    Smokey,

Maybe build a kodi specific Virtual machine and take snapshots prior to each change? If it barfs you have a solid fallback.

That is cheating, I know why it fails and just have to compile the damm stuff so I can play all of my files. There is about a 50/50 chance of things working on any change.

As mr. Burns said, cheating is the gift man gives himself.

Or if you'd like more traditional, Ben franklin said god helps those who help themselves.

Either way, it would save you hassle. Unless you want the hassle :D

Going backwards isn't an option. So some of my software needs to be compiled from source I just can't install the canned packages.

    Earl764,

Most multimedia content is legally encumbered a number of distributions and sometimes software providers don't want to deal with it, SuSE is one of those distributions and VLC is but one provider I prefer openSuSE as a distribution. Usually it isn't taken as far as it has been lately.

Now VLC is just on the video crap (388 or so files) Kodi is finding far more files to complain about all video and most audio files). Most streaming is done in those formats.

Better pellets could help on that part, just saying. It's been stupid cold here so my mixture or choice of pellets changes according to the needs:smoke:
If you throw some corn into the hopper during cold spells should help on the amount used during the day.
Harman can handle up to 50% corn IIRC:)

3 freakin degrees here this AM. Warmed up to near 40 and sunny, so it felt good when I got out of work. Snow-sleet-freezing rain-rain for tomorrow. 50ish around midnight tomorrow night then dropping. Near 0 again on Saturday. I'm tired of it.
