Had a couple cool beers. Wife used the crockpot to cook a Roast Beast I bought on sale the other day. Made a gravy with the drippings and cooked egg noodles to go with! I gotta go now.......

whoa - spend a couple of days away and there is pages and pages to catch up on.
Yesterday was campinspecter and mine 45th wedding anniversary. Went over to Mom's and she took us out for dinner. We stayed the night and then moved wood into her basement this morning.
campinspecter just mentioned that is trying to snow outside. It was frosty this morning but warmed up quite a bit during the day. Temps are dropping quickly.

What a great day. Mid 50s with a light breeze. Stopped down to talk with mom and one of my cousins about the family tree after church. Sounds like we had a few monkeys in our tree ( no surprise there!)

Took my bride for a walk along the rec trail then later I got some Hackberry split and my pallet set up for it.

Got a couple new electrical outlets installed in the basement and when I got done I was greeted with my bride having made her first batch of cupcakes made from scratch.

It's a big step for a gal that didn't cook when we got married.

We met at high school - the one I am now working in. Our school had (and still does) students from all the surrounding communities who travel by bus or ferry to attend the school. I came by ferry and campinspecter came by bus.

Last night was interesting. I've posted about my crackhead neighbors before. So I'm a little on edge nowadays.

I go outside around 8 and the road to the south of me 400 yards across the field has 2 police cruisers with their lights on. I didn't think much of it and jumped in my truck and pulled out of the driveway and noticed a parked car on the entrance of my dead end road....And another on my road just to the east of me. I drive up on the east car and notice it's the PoPo too. I asked the deputy "is everything good" and he says we're looking for someone.

Great. There's a manhunt underway and my house is right in the thick of it.

I whip the truck around and go back home...Grab some steel...And wait.

Not sure what happened but there were 8 cop cars total...A few showed up later...And you can go months without seeing a single cop on either of these roads.

Dang man, can't like that, except that you have the means and the skill to protect your own.... but that don't always put one at ease.
    Stay safe bud.

    That's great!
    Pics?
What town does your dad live in/near WS? Jack Straw lives like 30 minutes from our family's cabin in Manorkill, East Conesville road.
    Pretty cool.
