Now that's funny. Did you forget who you're talking to? "I was born in a blizzard in a Willys jeep".....I know what wind chill is.... I was referring to the temps on the map as compared to our current temps around these parts and trying to say how there is no way it will be that cold here tonight!! Not only did you guys out east win the unofficial trophy for heavy snows this year, but I think you may be in the running for the coolest temps for tonight!!!
nah , I knew ya knew ... yar a yooper! didn't know if ya noticed that was a windchill chart not real temp.. supposed to be 5 to 12 below tonight... got to explain these things.. for our non northern members
Yes, I saw the wind chill chart. Never really had the couple weeks worth of below zero temps that we are used to getting every winter along with the few days here and there. Typically, we'll get days and days that are not above zero and weeks upon weeks that are not above freezing. thats OK with me as the temps are more welcomed once they are mild now-a-days!
yup, I'm with ya.. 1988 month of December never got above 0.. not 32 but 0 98% of month was negative.. and Feb 2014 average for month was 15 below or a bit chilly!
Dave, do you know what the official snowfall is for your area this winter? No, it is not over with yet.
We are way below. WAY down from the average! 99 lbs just mentioned this afternoon when we took a drive to the cottage that this is the first winter she remembers that we have not shoveled roofs! We are currently less than 120".
We had a mild day here. Started out with ample sunshine and then clouded up for the remainder. Don't know if it got all the way to 55 but it must have been close.
We're getting hit with some very strong winds and power is out all over the place. We lost power around 10:00. There was also a fire north of us when a couple crossbars broke on power lines. Power still going through started a fire in a field. Fortunately it was spotted right off and the fire department called. They got it out. Now if we could only get power restored... Trying to go on the site to report power outage or to see the areas that are out of power is useless as the site itself if down. I've received no notifications from the power company either so we're sort of in the dark. But, the generator is running so we're okay. I may have to go for more gas later today but we'll be fine for a while.
The winds are picking up here, 158 without power west of us. We have 15 gallons of gas in the 3 five gallon gas cans and the generators full.
I'm hearing that on Wednesday of next week the New England States good be in for a good amount of snow. I'm sure there will be updates coming down the road.
