It's easy to get a new saw when the heat bill is close to $0. !! In 2013 I feel I got a 100% ROI in one year. Home heating oil was $3.69/gallon. We would have used 800 gallons. I bought the used Fireview, had the flue lined and bought enough wood for 2 years. Totalled about $2800. Broke even the first year, heated for second year with wood and less than 200 gallons of oil. Used the same last year. And with the IS this year, less than 50 gallons of oil. I've bought a 241, a used splitter and a perfect used 362 in the last 4 years. And made myself a LOT of backbreaking work Wait! Maybe I should rethink this ! Nah... I love it! Love the wife too! Especially since she bought me 2 saws and found me a smokin' deal on the used splitter Wait! I think I created a monster here!
Tim, you have more than one winner there. Great wife is #1, then comes the stove, saws and splitter. Can we add to that the comfort of wood heat? Perhaps we should also add the great exercise you are giving your body. Wait! How about the many friends you've made on the forum?!
Judging by the look on her indoors face yesterday when she came home I may be on a 12 month plan never mind three year. Couldn't get in back garden for scrounged wood Moved 1.5 m/3 of split wood on top of my stack to try and tidy garden up today in the pouring rain . Only trouble is I came home with some more and filled space I'd created with undplit wood
