And I'll also remind you all this.......you can PM anyone you desire here, and talk about ANYTHING you desire here, with out ANY REPERCUSSIONS here. You can make a HUMONGOUS PM, including up to 100 of your political friends if you so desire, and talk about whatever you like. Even politics......

Some of you guys know what I went through elsewhere, some of you don't. Bottom like is the politics-delete atmosphere of the forums will not change. Ever. If that upsets you to the point that you no longer want to be here, I'm very sorry to hear that. There are lots of other places to discuss that stuff. You ought to see my Facebook page. It would probably be an eye opener for some of you.....I'm a very conservative person, much more so than most of you could imagine. I feel no need to bloat this place with that crap. None whatsoever.

It just turns into a chitshow, mudslinging and hate. Then we have members in Newfoundland and Germany looking at us like "WTF is wrong with these people".

Not gonna happen here folks, can't do it. And I make no apologies. It is what it is, we founded this place on that strict principle and it's here to stay.

After all of the years of us being here this is what we are talking about? I can understand new member not knowing the rules. It is so nice here, I can't believe anyone has a problem. I joined tacomaword.com and what a brutal place that is! This is the Mayberry of the inter web and we need to keep it that way! There are plenty of other places if you want different content.

I just now saw this thread today. Very interesting read. I myself may have pushed the envelope a time or three and may have said some things to others here that could be construed as hurtful or vindictive. Sometimes it is hard to not get pizzed when some one is just plain azz saying sumpthin that goes against every reason of logic.
My hats off to all the mods here and all that they do to make this forum available to us to enjoy.
I myself have been a pretty political animal for many a year but know were I can get my yah yah's out on the interweb when I feel the need. I prefer to do it in the voting booth because all the interweb chest pounding is just that, hollow thuds.
Thinking back to when I was first a part of what I call Brand X what color is yer stove site, I received a PM from 1 of the mods. about my avatar and the info in my personal profile. It seems as though my mention of guns in my profile was to distressing for some and the avatar of my flag pole with the stars and strips and a dont tread on me flag flying below it was way to political. I was some how supporting the tea party I was told.
    110.jpg
Well I polity responded that I had been flying that flag well before the tea party had ever been heard of and it just meant that I didnt want anyone F-ing with me. I would say this site is wayyy better on letting things get by. Metaphorically speaking, it is a sad state of affairs when folks cant have a civil discussion about things that affect us all and then pizz and moan when gubbermint is all F-ed up.
Politics aside, try getting into a discussion about re loading pistol ammo with a newbe who "read it on the internet or a buddy of a buddy said" and some hillbilly hack that dont know chit. Then the tooth, fang and claw's come out.
Have a great day and dont take any candy you aint made yerself. Peace.

NOTICE: THIS IS NOT ANOTHER REQUEST TO HAVE POLITICS HERE :deadhorse:

Exactly Gasifier. I've got big ideas and you hit it right on the head, only I'll have a better name for it than "The Ashtray"  . I have this idea for a funny, entertaining, political/informative "forum" involving diverse "common" folks just like here. It would not be like anything you've "seen" before. I thought that maybe it could be developed within the Hoarders community since the "themes" and "personalities" providing the backdrop for each "program" are represented all over this site. Think ultimately podcast/cable show versus forum (yeah I know, we all have to dream). Seriously, I'm not going to explain it all yet since this is a potentially profitable idea, but I gave direct highlights of the first show right up there on page 6. :zip: I'm retired, last kid graduating HS next year, looking for something fun to do that in its own small/big way might have a positive impact on the serious mess I see around me. That's what my "tangential post" was all about. Hopefully, some day I'll be able to give you folks a time to set your DVR too!

Almost 4500 messages, 17,000 likes and maybe 3 times have I had a slight disagreement on here. Those all ended with a pm self initiated or to me from the other party....vitual handshake and forgotten. I think this whole thread should vanish, reset the clock back a few days, weeks or months. Forgive and stay here or smile and move on.

Maybe just lock it up, history is history.
And that is what Scotty did, and with the rest of the clan, we made this a home. No bullies or domestic violence tolerated.

What did the lumberjack say about the mathematician who couldn’t dance?
“Man, that guy needs to get some logarithm.”

I myself think we should all forget about all this nonsence and get back to some of the really important matters that affect us all as human beings and far wood hoarders. Subjects that really matter in the grand scheme of life as we live it where ever we are on this planet.
    For instance.
Last night I awoke at around 4 am. like I have done for years to evacuate what it was I had for supper 8 hours prior. As usual I dont turn on the light so as to not wake the wife and the dog. Well, after I got done I started fanning the terlit paper roll to finish my biznez. Well in the dark I kept fanning and slapping that roll all the while knowing it was a fresh roll that the wife had put on the rack earlier in the day. After much frustration I finally said screw it and turned on the light to see what was going on. Turns out that the wife had put the roll on with the paper going over the back instead of over the front. Well, I did what any self respecting husband of over 36 years would do. I turned the roll of terlit paper around into it's PROPER position, wiped my arse, walked back into the bedroom, put a pillow over my wifes head while see was sleeping and shot her right in the face.
But for the really important question, do you folks like single ply T.P or the thick charman type stuff? I have a septic system if that helps. Thanks for any advice in advance.
