from the winds we had the other night include a smaller beech and a good sized branch from a one of our older Maples up top, I'll have some pictures for Sunday night of the Maple. This same maple gave up a even bigger branch when I first started cutting in 2008 or 2009, I think it's a Sugar Maple but we'll let the pros identify it. The downed Beech is in another area which might give us a second Beech that looks like the top is damaged, I'll have those pictures when I get the downed Beech. I still have another four or five areas to check for wind damaged trees.
The newest older camera crapped out, our oldest camera won't get on the same page with me so we took care of that today.
I'll need to evaluate things, even get a picture when we get back from ny. I saw a heavy lean with a split in the trunk.
Got home today with daylight, snow gone, the ground dried up and partially frozen. So I went out to collect some stuff I've been cutting and see what yesterday's wind might have made available. Came across this blowdown across the trail. I thought about going back for a saw but decided to see what happens with the new trailer.
Yes, something happened to the on/off switch, I might send it in for repair. The older sony camera works but something is going on with the pocket cd's it stores the pictures on. I'll either be cutting tomorrow or burning some pine in the outdoor fireplace. The colder temps with the winds today made it nasty outside.
I just printed off our quote to get it fixed, it will go out on Monday so we'll see if the quote changes any once they get it.
One of the pins broke off the lid you open to change the batteries and change the card but it is still holding.
