Thank you Mag Craft...stupid question, but my drive needs more gravel, but I have some washboard places, Is something like your drag gonna be able to dig up hard a hard packed, neglected drive?

I love the old Ford tractors, you can look for Arp tracks for added traction too.

Uufffda, I don't think I'll need that much traction, but a cool picture!

Just waiting to talk to the guy, he had a hip surgery Monday so I'll give him some time to recover before bothering him, but I will keep everyone posted!

Yep I have a box scraper also. But a lot of the time all the road needs is to drag it which is fast and easy. I do a lot of maintenance on my road because I hate wash board. When I first started on it there big rocks in it and large ruts from rain, but now it is a piece of cake to maintain but it took awhile to get there.

But after the box scraper loosens it up I bet a drag would do a dandy job of makin it smooth again!
Box scraper doesn't always do the best job of making things smooth unless the driveway/road is pretty flat. We have this issue in one of the gravel roads at work, the scraper seems to accentuate the high spots and digs out the low spots. So we rip it up loose with the box scraper and then smooth it out with a standard 3PH blade swung around backwards...works pretty well.

Box scraper definition--- A box scraper is a tractor implement that lures you into thinking that in one more pass everything will be perfect only to dig in and make a rut that has you circling around and around and...........Till the cycle repeats.

This is when it was first barely usable, had to try it. April snow& graderblade 143.jpg

Here it is finished with the 3 point hitch on the front for use with the tractor. The mechanism to adjust the depth of cut is there also, along with what turned out to be the ugliest color paint I had in the shop:rofl:
Copy of April snow& graderblade 032.jpg

It's heavy, but you want that. Almost 8' wide cut.

Do 3 points put any down pressure on the attachment? I guess in all my hours on tractors I don't recall, I know my buddies compact doesn't put any force down, only what's there for weight

There are a few tractors out there that have down pressure on the 3PH...but the vast majority don't. Maybe someone knows which ones do...I don't recall any specific models right now.

Some old Internationals have down pressure. JD is offering down pressure on some of the new 4000 series.

That is actually a "carry all" from Tractor supply. They have a bunch of holes in them to bolt boards to, to make a custom box or platform on. If you google "tractor carry all" it will give you some ideas. A lot of people do use them as forks. I think the carry all is rated to carry 1000lbs. IMO forks are one of the best attachments for a tractor. I use my forks more than anything. I keep all kinds of stuff (including firewood) on pallets. If need something then I can grab up a pallet and haul it to where I need it. If it is in the way it is easy to move with the tractor.

I built my own forks then took a pallet and made a carry all to haul some saws and tools. That way I can drop my "carry all" quickly and move a pallet if needed.

Agrisupply has these forks for $200. Shipping probably would not be bad if you don't have a store close by.
