If I can get it in my carry-on, does it win the award for the FHC's longest haul? They gots some funny lookin' trees over here too!
Pretty dang clean Dave. I really had to wander far to start seeing an occasional piece of trash lying about. I'm staying in a hotel on the main drag and everything is spotless. The area has a very affluent feel to it, as evidenced by the Lamborghini, Maybach Limo, and Maserati currently parked out front. Literally, there is a huge shopping mall on every block, and most of them interconnect underground and have 3-4 levels underground. You can catch the MRT (subway, which puts the one in NYC to shame) from the biggest one and ride to any other section of the city.
Usually when one of us 'Muricans heads over there we stick out like a sore thumb, i.e. a giant.... Perhaps you see eye to eye with 'em...
It's no secret that I ain't exactly the jolly green giant. But I am well above average here and can usually see all the way down the street with no trouble.
The funny looking trees actually aren't trees at all. They are "supertrees" (I know, I'll wait while you ) and are actually steel structures with live plants growing on them and some have solar panels in the tops. They are fairly recent and are going to look great when fully vegetated.
I hope you get to the night light show at Gardens By The Bay and get to the Conservatories during the day.
Decades ago we were supposed to have liberty in Singapore. It was billed as the cleanest city in the world. Anyway, shore leave was cancelled and we steamed to another port...guess us sailors were just a little too dirty for them?
We did get to the conservatories, I'm out of weekends so probably not going to make it over there again unless we book another trip out. (Here for work)
Ha! I did see a guy attacking a pretty large stump with a saw and have considered heading up to Malaysia where you can pick up models not available in the US. I do not have a problem.....
