We had the Spring Peepers out last night!! Was so loud it was ridiculous!! Not to mention we hit 75°-76° today! :)

But we are experiencing some very heavy thunderstorms at the moment. Unheard of for Feb! Both the storms and temp! The lightning is crazy right now!

I'll use the "any time it is convenient" shipping for stuff I really don't need for a couple of weeks. Hey, I've had some nice surprises because I don't remember that I ordered something . Have also gotten stuff within 2-3 days from some vendors. I remember sending in orders via snail mail and having to wait a month or more for stuff, so getting it within 2 weeks is usually just fine by me.

Despite warm temps all week, mostly 50's and in the 60's yesterday, I still have plenty of snow left. Pictures taken about 10 minutes ago.

We have a barn on the Zagray property that is invaded with bats upstairs. We've never paid much attention to it because we use the lower level where the cows were and the Landlord uses the upper. they have various furniture and whatever stored there, covered in bat guano.
Things are changing - the landlord is transferring the entire property to us (long, long story!) and will probably not remove much from the barn. so, now we would like to clear out the junk (keeping the antiques) and put displays in the barn for people to walk through during our shows. but first we need to move the bats out. Can't very well have bat guano all over displays.

now this barn is about 50 feet to the peak, the likely entry points. the interior is cluttered and there are no lights (it was a hay barn until the late 60's.

we can put up some bat houses, but that seems to have limited success, and seal up the entrances.

    [IMG]any ideas?
and, of course, bats can be rabies carriers and their guano is bad for you. but they eat lots of mosquitoes

With all of the nasty things mosquitoes can carry getting rid of bats wouldn't be a priority with me. In fact I would gladly trade the ridiculous number of sparrows we have in our barn during the winter for your bats. We noticed that the pigeons have made a few nests in there for the very first time this winter. I just got my 30 foot pole yesterday from Amazon, and I intend on evicting them all this week. Up here we have to put up Purple Martin boxes to control the mosquitoes. I wish we had some bats!

Bat guano is highly sought after fertilizer. Perhaps there is a way to collect it and also protect your belongings? Perhaps there is a small organic farmer willing to collect it once a year for free?

    BTW,
I had just been awakened about 11:30 last night after hearing the chicken coop in distress, a first after 12 years. The hens were going nuts. I looked and saw one on the floor with a bunch of white stuff running out of it's mouth....it seemed. Trying to focus my sleepy eyes, and having grabbed a flash light that wasn't worth a crap I finally figure out what the commotion was about. A white ferret had my chicken in a death bite to the neck and was holding on to cause it to expire. A brazen little * , I went to the other side of the barn and came back with a fence post and went mafia on it. I have two neighbors who's children have many types of caged critters. A pure white pet ferret, hopefully one of one, I never expected to find.

You sure it was a domestic ferret and not an ermine(white phase of a weasel)?

I never knew about "Newegg" just looked it up. I'll have to poke around on that site. I am looking for a home camera security system. I want a wireless hook up. I don't mind if I have to plug it in, just don't want to run wires. Lots of negative reviews about them not working in cold temps, or jamming up the Wi-Fi.
