I'm sure all you dad's are proud of your children but I'm the proudest dad around this week. My son graduated Army boot camp at Fort Jackson this week and the family went down to watch. What a great feeling to see him marching in formation. I can't wait to see what he accomplishes next. FB_IMG_1487980446404.jpg

Great! We wish your son well. Seems it was not that long ago (but was) when we saw our son graduate in Chicago.

I assume he was in the Navy. It's a special feeling seeing your son marching in amongst a sea of soldiers that are defending our ountry.

    Congratulations!

My brother went into the Army a bit later in life (28). It was the best decision for him he could have made. He was a 33W, I think they changed that now. He was discharged as a Sargent 4 years later to work as a contractor at Gordon. He was hired away from the contractor into the DOD and then hired into the NSA staying at Gordon the whole time.

He's now an E14 and doing great. He's had great offers to good into the private sector but genuinely loves what he is doing.

Yes, he was in for somewhere around 12 years and on a sub; ended up teaching instead of going out on the ship but got out long before I would have. I told him he has to be a better man than I as I could not have turned down the offers they made him! His last 3 years he did not see the sea but instead re-wrote a lot of their training manuals along with teaching. But, he has also done himself well after getting out so it worked out well but I could not have done that!

Hope you are planning on coming the GTG in April.

Awesome , I remember when my son finished boot camp , I'm not a crier but I had tears in my eyes watching him as a parent it just lets you know that you did good . My son is still serving 7 years now , I can tell you it's scarey , he's been to Afgan , Korea , Germany been in Harm's way , but I'm encouraging him to stay in get your 20 in then decide what next .

Don't want to hijack your thread my friend a big Thank you to your son
