Prolly should start another thread, but whats the most you've all burned in one season? Mine was just shy of 5 tons 243 bags and I think I even burned some wood too. Season before was almost 8 cords of wood. Added some pink pellets and a ducted stove. Now I'm barely keeping my pig status with just under 180 bags the last 3 seasons.
I'm down to 9 bags left...... I called my local TSC today and they are out and don't expect another shipment of pellets until next weekend. I guess I'll try HomeDepot tomorrow and see what they have.
Our HD still had AWF 2 days ago. Very good pellet from my limited experience burning them. (12 bags) I also thought I saw green? but not sure just what because there are a few with that green name and I get them confused.
Really? I was at HD last Friday and all they had was FSU and Greene Supreme. Do you know how much AWF they had?
Don't know, what I saw were the open stacks to the left of the door when you enter. I was tempted to fill my cart, but opted not to because I had spent enough on heating this past week. Didn't see any FSU inside. I saw one guy take off his hat and scratch his head as he stood there looking at the two brands. A bit later, he was at the check out with the Greens. He only had about 4 bags so he won't be out anything.
Well almost down to empty in the MWP pile. Will have to decide if I want to burn LGs or Cubex shortly. No Greens for me.
Wow, didn't you buy somewhere around a dozen tons of MWPs? I think that was, what 3 years ago? You must have a lot of space available now that these are cleared out!
I bought 16 tons back in 2010 along with 4 tons of Cubex. The MWP came in 3 loads 5 6 and 5 ton the Cubex in one load. I still had the 75 LGs from 2009. 2010 was the last time I bunkered pellets. My garage is looking empty.
Going to be time to cone out of hibernation and find yourself some new stock. If your local HD has AWF, they are really good, perhaps better than average. I don't know the policy of your HD, but the one here delivers for free if over 3 or more tons. Unlike Baker, their machine won't fit in your garage so they drop them at the door. I rented a pallet jack and moved our five tons to inside the garage. My drive is paved and level with the door entrance.
Da bear is planning on it as soon as I can safely take on a load, early spring isn't a good time at all. Nor is winter. That is one reason I always have more than a season's worth on hand before winter. Like with TP running out isn't an option. Looks like a lot of folks are getting caught with their hind end exposed this season.
Trying to educate a few newbies this year about the dangers that the big boxes will run out of pellets before we run out of winter, they didn't listen , and now they are scrambling . My SIL just paid $8.00 for a bag of Lig's from the local Ace hardware
I need someone with the equipment, garage floor is not level with the driveway, nor is the driveway paved. The folks with all the equipment was woodpellets.com, that was one hell of a forklift they had. Up the drive way it came with those pellets and placed them on the garage floor from under the deck. The lot is not large truck friendly at all, nor is the setup really fork lift friendly..
They usually get it the same way we did. Frosty keasters or hard knocks usually smarten them up! Nothing like going back to the primary heat and a cold house to awaken ones brain!
