Recieved about 5" today, much less than other areas, but expected another 3- 6" tonight through the am tomorrow. Some areas got blasted, like Lincoln, N.H. I was down there today and one could look out the van window and be equal to the top of the snow banks which stand around 5' tall. Pretty cool!
Been getting pummeled here, plowing twice a day since Sunday. Recieved another 16" the past 36 hrs, near my job, a half hour away over 25"! Some pictures throughout the days.
Its too dark for pics in last 30 hours I have snow blower drive 3 or 4 times at least 6 inches a time there's 4 feet in field... hoping Saturday it settles with 40 degree temp
My deck stairs from this afternoon, When we get tired of lifting it to throw over the side, we push it down the stairs. We won't be using them until mid April as I'm sure we gonna get more snow for this winter is done.
Not trying to be Joe Safety, but you got plenty of ways out of the house? You hear lots of stories of first responders having lots of troubles because of blocked entrances.
Thanks for asking, yeah we have three other entrance doors, as well always being able to slide down the deck stairs. There is another set of stairs (snow filled) on the other side of the deck. I just becomes too much work trying to keep them open after everything else we have to clear. And besides where are you going to go in three feet of snow when you get to the bottom.
With you NH mountain man I usually use a nice set of stairs to start the luge.. easy for kids to walk up nice and steep for the initial momentum.. in an emergency three doors are open and accessible (plowed to) no responder will carry his equipment 40 feet through 4 feet of snow.. worse case they take out a close window.. the good news in an emergency... theres normally a sled on that deck a kid left there.. for a quick getaway
Well I'll add a few pics, the first one is my sad log wagon. Then some of the snow came off the shop roof a little sooner than it usually does. I think this happened about Wednesday , broke the A frame of the tractor plow pushing back icy snowbanks making room for the next one (every other day last week) $722 part, Well worth a day in the shop fixing it instead. It's been a busy week plowing for sure. Been too busy or catching up on sleep between storms to log in here most of the week. Luv it! Spent all day blowing banks back at the camps (vacation/2nd homes) of the folks "from away" so they can come up for the weekend. That's the plan for tomorrow also.
A couple years back we got dumped on (5'-7' depending on just where) for the opening of deer season! A lot of hunters never made it in to their deer camps.....
They are so well used that you can spot the browse line. Kinda like it's all been pruned to the same height from the ground. Gotta have the same thing in Maine, no?
We do Yoops... right on our front lawn. A line of cedars gets trimmed every year. Lotta deeya round heeya...
We didn't get as much on that last storm as you guys northeast of here: 0" in Brattleboro, 4" here at home, and the guy at the office who lives the furthers north (West Leb) got 8". I went snowshoeing today with my daughter (whose boyfriend was playing golf today in PA). As we crossed the lawn she realized she was looking down at the top of the clothesline.
That's funny! Won't be hanging clothes any time soon. After today's and tomorrow's warm spell, maybe hang a pair of socks?
