Rare here. Seared on the outside, pretty much raw in the middle. With garlic butter.

Thanks Smokey, I posted that somewhere else and it came with my reply to your post. I'm waiting to get a call from Florida to find out how things went. He has had so many surgeries, I can't recall them all. He has been disabled for years. Now this on top of it all. Getting old isn't for sissies.

My wife's cousin had two joints replaced up here in Maine didn't hear anything good about surgery for that in Florida. So she spent two summers up here getting back together. Now last summer was the last time they were coming north for the summer.

Got a call, Brother out of surgery. Hip broken in 4 places, but they pinned it instead of replacement. Maybe recovery will be easier.

This pic I attached is of mailbox I drive by on my way home. Took that picture back in the winter of 2013/2014. We had somewhere around 10 feet of snow over the course of that winter. That black dot on the left is a mailbox. Poor guy was digging it out almost every day.

I bet have the mailboxes on Rt 9 are destroyed. Mine is OK We keep it plowed out and it is sat back from the road. Our dead end road is only one lane wide now. Worth your life trying to get out on the main road without being hit. Can't see anything without sticking the front of the car into the road.

Got about 7" of heavy stuff. Got up at 3:45 to check-still snowing enough to not do a 4:30 clear so went back to bed. Got up at 5 and outside at 5:10.

Wet stuff and underneath was very wet from yesterday's rain/snow showers all day. Still very lightly snowing or maybe misting. I might have been better of leaving it till after work, hopefully it doesn't ice over too bad but its still suppose to warm up by the weekend and should melt off if it does. Heck if the sun comes out it will help even at 30 degrees.

This is about the time of winter that I have had enough and care less about going crazy on the driveway but it still has to be done

I hate it when they ruin meat like that. Did you ask for it to be replaced or at least for a bit off the bill?

I like rare also (heck, just introduce it to the flame real quick; Flame meat steak, steak meet flame - then time to eat. some cuts of meat that just doesn't work with as well though so my default is medium rare.

My experiences, while limited, is that each steak house uses their own special blend of seasonings. I always ask about the seasonings while placing my order for my meal. I learned that one "after" having received a heavily blackened steak. While I like pepper, a little goes a long ways for me. We have a Texas Roadhouse that cooks their steaks just the way I like them and their seasonings are really good.

The one and only time I ordered "blackened steak" was on the advise of a friend at a local Italian eatery. Let's just say that it wasn't "blackened" by spices. That is one of only 2 or 3 times that I not only didn't eat all my meal, but didn't take the leftovers with me (from a sit-down palce).
