I need to add something like that to the Brinly 17. Mostly because I already cracked one side.

Ok guys took out my ms461 and the 024 I got recently... I got about $70-$80 in her.... with the 16" bar she works great!!!

Well I have finally cut my way back to the white, red oak, and some hickory entanglement.... these are very dangerous to cut in I was/am careful.....the 461, still seems to be getting better and better with each tank of fuel....

Hook a logchain on that old Super Chevy and drag the logs out in the open where it's a little safer to cut. I like the custom forged tailgate.

Wait til I get some pics of the tops where we've been cutting. Amish crew destroyed the woods and left an utter mess. I've cut tops since the mid 90's and never dealt with the tangled mess like we're in now.

About the same age that they found mine. You won't be doing any heavy lifting for a while.

After I was fully healed I have had no problems and that surgery was almost 40 years ago. The surgery was performed with a local anesthetic and did not take very long. Recovery, before I felt OK with lifting things, took a couple of months but most of the pain was gone the first week. I am sure the surgery has gotten better in the time since I had mine done so you may well recover more quickly than I did.

Wow thanks that eases my mind some!!!!!

Ya the whole "getting put under" thing freaks me out.... it may be minor to some people, but the needles, doctors, etc give me major anxiety!!!!!

Back at that time they used a spinal block, like they sometimes use for women delivering babies. Y0u feel nothing from the waist down but are wide awake.

Sorry to hear that. Talk to your doctor. They may have alternative ways to do things. For me it was hold still for maybe 60 seconds while they shot me in the spine. I couldn't see what they were doing so it didn't bother me. A couple of minutes later they could have done almost anything to my lower body without me feeling it.

I talked to a good friend of mine the other day, and he said they put him out for a short while..... he also said it was an outpatient deal were he left when they were done.... he did say he was off work for 4-6 weeks, man that will suck....I am NOT the type of person to stay inside and watch TV....I feel useless if I am not doing something....yes I like to relax, but to not be able to go throw my saws In My truck and go cut a few loads on a good day will drive me crazy!!!!!!!

Atleast I have a lot of saw rebuilds I should be able to finish..... I also got an Oregon 520 grinder a few months ago, so I can try to stay busy....

I know this is the firewood thread, but if any of you guys are considering a grinder, I would say get one.... I was TOTALLY against grinders, and thought that they would never get an edge That was close to hand filing....well it's debatable on how "sharp" you want a chain before it becomes to easy to damage, but you can get a GREAT cutting chain with a grinder....you can just touch up a chain, or get a "rocked" chain back to shape in a hurry, not to mention all the angles are all correct.....

Here are a few pics of chains I have ground...

    Here is chisel chain

    Here are some semi-chisel chain

I'm new to the club and I wood like to introduce myself. My name is Jeff and I'm from St. Louis Mo. I've been a social hoarder for many moons now. St. Louis weather can be 50 degrees in July or 70 degrees in February. I have a fireplace, so I don't rely on wood being my main fuel source. It still doesn't stop me from stuffing my Jeep Cherokee to the max with a good score. I've been known check out tree services or just go freestyle and see what I can come up with. I hope to learn more from everyone.
