I don't live in a place I would need to do snow removal from my roof, but a short little video came up on my media feed about removing snow from a roof with string. What do you think?
Staying at a friend's in the Ossipee area Thursday night. Then 5 of us(hopefully) will meet for breakfast just south of Conway. A few last minute stops and on to a cabin in the woods. Can't wait! Lots of good laughs and card playing-cribbage. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
The guy from Maine on the other forum says he can hardly move today from pushing snow off his roof yesterday, getting old is not easy.
I've got a 4' deep drift right at the peak of the garage roof I gotta see if I can knock down a bit tomorrow before we get this new dump. This reminds me so much of when I was a kid. Deep snow. Giz and Sandy can't even move in it... and I can barely move, after I'm out in it... lol.
I may have to leave the garage roof until after this next dump. My back is gone. At least that roof has knee walls under it and the drift is the lighter stuff.
Take care clearing all this chit. It's my shoulders that give me trouble. Calling for 6- 12" here between tomorrow morning and Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile on the wet west coast, we are all worrying about flooding in the lower areas with all the rain tonight and tomorrow.
the year I went to Castlegar for college was after a big snow year. pictures from the previous year were attached to the 20 ft high windows showing the snow above the windows. I came from the coast where you would wake up to a inch of snow and it would be gone by noon and I thought "what I have I got myself into!!!"
We got it thanks! Looks like a steady snow today heavier tonight, and the same for tomorrow. 40° Sunday.....
Had to come up with something to carry more snow at a time with the small JD. This worked well enough to expand on it and make some pockets I can slide the fork tines into, instead of using scrap wood tied on with ropes ... The lil 5 hoss blower did perty well clearing the deck off twice after roof raking down on it. (this is before raking the roof) Snowing good right now. They're still saying 12"-14" tonight. Bring it...
