This picture taken on Baily's Island ME. Not taken by me. The person who took the picture said the surf was over 300 ft out when he snapped the shot. I have been down there many times and seen the huge waves. If you just sit, watch, and try to clear your head, you will have a very relaxing experience. Picture taken on Jan 24th I took the pic off FB. a person named Gregory submitted it.

What's funny is that the proaction chassis on our Yamaha venture is essentially a Polaris Indy chassis, but they took a lot of the tribal knowledge that Polaris learned from the 80s and started where Polaris left off, at that point in 96- 97 at least. Granted the rear suspension isn't as good as the polaris machines, but it handles what it was meant for pretty well. That 600 twin is kinda agricultural compared to others. The triple cylinder Yamahas in the proaction chassis are better than the 500 and 600 twins. This chassis on this sled is quite decent actually. Better skis and a better .92" track, with studs really helped over the stock .5" lugged track too. Now this motor does have smart carbs, which was way ahead of its time as they automatically adjust for temperature and elevation. Not that it matters because it gets 10 mpg at best. My 120 HP Polaris 600 twin with carbs gets 16 mpg easy even when railing on it.

I've had triples too. Our last one, a 96 Polaris xcr600 was a fun sled. It was very reliable as well. Triples are not necessarily any less reliable than twins, but they are typically better at lake racing where any issues with tuning will be exacerbated.

Some newer sleds have been made too flimsily, aiming for that super low weight, at the expense of durability. It's funny how those same sleds have actually gained weight over the years after the chassis were first introduced.

IMG_20170210_154345060.jpg a peak at the goodies that go with! Between batches there's always a handful of meat left in the stuffer that goes on a plate along with broken casing meat, that all gets cooked up, a little slice of heaven in every bite!!!:chef::drool::grizz:

yes, we did have a good time. the weather was sunny and not too cold. campinspecter and my nephew-in-law wheelbarrowed 1 1/2 cords of wood to the basement while I stacked. Then they moved 1 1/2 cords from being stacked outside into a wood shed. I visited with my Mom and niece while making dinner and knitting together.

Absolutely! We had a blast. The trails were very good, but there were some icy corners, but not bad at all. I do run studs on all of our sleds though. It's cheap insurance.

Not too many guys and gals riding over their skill levels, but there's always a couple.

Yeah, I saw the temperatures that are projected for up north. We will be hitting the mid to upper 50's down here. There's a great base, but with those temperatures, and no real new snow forecast, that's not good.

Windy this morning and should get worse later this morning. We are expecting rain as well. We have a 85 foot passenger ferry that brings the students from one of our feeder communities that probably won't run this morning. Yesterday was such a nice day.

They should add that touchless car wash is the only way to go... Brushes only add swirl marks.
