got to a high of 16 today.. still snowing... I had to go back out cause the town plow closed the driveway and lost a chain on kubota :headbang:.. the kids showed up nephew and brother at noon.. neighbor kids at 130..

I chipped in 15 gallons of gas and gave them the job of packing down the 14 acres of fluffy snow so when the winds pick up it doesn't drift into the driveway... so there are 4 snowmobile packing in the yard now! those kids are working their tail off:thumbs:

I came in to warm up and get a coffee loaded the stove burning ash and elm

This weather is cutting ice fishing short. We had no snowmobile season. Trails were open a whopping 2 days! Unbelievable how warm its been overall this winter. The new IS will sit with just ashes in it after the next 2 nights, the NG furnace will get some exercise. I'll be saving the hard earned wood for when its actually cold out.

We hit 36 today so we had coals going most of the day from the morning fire. I think we have some Cherry going until the overnight fire.

No indoor fires here even though the basement is getting a touch uncomfortable for sitting at the computer at 62f. (Maybe tomorrow while she's out playing cards! shhh)

Current temp 15° only dropping a degree for a low tonight with some snow. Bigger storm to move in tomorrow morning, lasting until Thursday afternoon. Loaded the oakleaf with maple birch and ash for the overnight.

Fired up the OWB for the overnight and it feels like single digits out there! Thermometer shows in the low 20's but I'm not so trusting of that either.....might be in cahoots with the weather channel, no?

We had 30 this morning and the temp is 35 at the moment, I started a fire after the treadmill workout with some not so good wood I've been saving for the warmer temps.

Just a little above freezing here, sunshine and solar gain has it toasty even with a small morning fire. Poplar same as always.
