image.jpg burned a lot more than expected so far. Believe it is due to wood quality as I had a lot of boxeldera d standing dead elm and cherry which was pretty lightafter drying :/

About 4 cord left thoughso np worries. Also just loaded up the easy use pile on the deck since snow's a comin!

In 4 weeks or so, it'll really start feeling like spring here in our area.....
We have a month or so of cold, but when the sun comes out, you can feel it getting warmer every day. I'd say we're about "over da' hump"......

That's a nice location for your wood Garry. Have you started on your wood for next season yet?

Yep, box elder burns a bit like paper but one burns what one has that's dry enough to burn.

Hope you have had the chance to add more to your stacks this winter. Nothing beats being 3 or more years ahead.

Nice easy place for getting at your heating supply.

This winter has been so crazy, its 6:19 pm on February 11th and I'm sitting on my porch in shorts, that I've burned just under a cord.

Nice and handy "porch stack." No trek in the snow is needed!

I do my best proof reading after I hit 'Post.' I guess I'll have to fix that.

You know what Mark Twain said about living in Kentucky; "When the end of time comes, I want to be living in Kentucky because everything comes to Kentucky 25 years later!"

I should have 2-3 cord extra but still need to build up and add 5+ more.

Haven't even used a 1/4 of the stockpile this year. Got almost 2 cords of free stuff from a buddy this winter but still haven't used what I would have expected to. Live in Northern Indiana by Lake Michigan.[IMG]

Yes I figured we spent the money on the greenhouse and might as well use it as a "Brownhouse" till we get going on all winter growing. But thanks for the complement.

Those splits should dry fairly fast in there, about like a solar kiln. Very cool.
