Such a beautiful day out there I could not stay inside. Doctor said I could start using the chain saw Monday so I pushed it just a couple days. That part went okay but my back is really paying the price... Same old song, same old dance.
Well Dennis, the good news is many years from now when you finally go meet the maker... your body will be well used.. not just old and rusty from sitting on a shelf but worn out! that my friend is not a bad thing! til then stay safe and remember... as you age your body abilities decrease.. but your experience increases! so pop a few ibuprofen and keep typing
Good job. No sense to tell you not to push it, you're the only one who knows how far you can go, right?
Awesome Backwoods looks like a good day to me! Glad to see you felt OK enough to get out there and enjoy yourself. Hopefully you can rest your back and it gets to feeling better in a day or two. Just remember not to push yourself to hard which is what I usually do.....
Dennis, ya done gooder! Tell us, do you perform any stretching beforehand? The lower back especially needs them hamstrings loosened up for saw work...
That's great Dennis glad to see you out and about. No snow on the ground still I see. We gut 14"the other day and two more last night with rain on the way for Sunday that should be fun. Take it easy slow and steady wins the race.
I was in the same boat Backwoods Savage the 65 degree day said come out and play. Having some saw time does wonders for the mind and soul. Only bad part you can make a pile of work quick with a saw
I'm glad to see you out there again, buddy. But don't overdo it, I want you to be healthy and ready for the GTG festivities!! Won't be long now!!
I'm surprised a Willey Coyote such as yourself hasn't devised a safe and effective way to sit on an overturned, padded milk crate to fell a tree. Actually I'm supprised the trees in your cutting area just dont give up and fall over on their own when they see the Savage coming their way!
Yes I do. I have to stretch to get my shoes and socks on every day. Sometimes I stretch to reach into the cupboard for something to eat. Have to stretch a dollar on occasion. Forget the hamstings. Those got wasted when I had polio.
That morning we had maybe an inch left but that went fast yesterday. We got another ground cover overnight but that is about gone already.
Glad to see you back in action and healing nice ....I know the feeling of wanting to cut some wood lol
