Couple of bakeries in the immediate area whose pasties I enjoy.

Pretty much anywhere in the U.P. has pasty's....haven't ever found anywhere without 'em!

We are finally! Starting to have a New England winter here. We had a lousy January, warm and chitty. We got a foot of snow this week, and another foot coming of the next couple of days, with real cold. 16 for the high today and the next few, cold forecast for the week ahead. Not sure if this is the right thread or not but can you give me some insight to the benefits of your 400 gallon buffer tank? Firewood savings? I'm guessing quicker water temperature recovery time which would add up to less wood used? What type of tank is it? Insulated I'm thinking? I have a CB 6048 owb & was wondering if a tank could cut down on wood usage. Also best location of tank in system loop etc. Thanks! :handshake:

I don't know that it cuts down much on the amount of wood used. Some during the shoulder seasons. I believe it is best descibed as making the system operate more smoothly. Like you said, helps with recovery, stores heat energy for your entire system. Less on and off cycling. It is a used air receiver tank, nice and clean when you get them. Fittings already there, etc. I sprayed it with a closed cell spray foam kit I bought. Sometime when I have more time I'll try to remember to post up some pics, or links to some post I've already made. Gotta run.....

Big Noreaster coming Sunday through Monday bringing with it 12"- 16" with high wind. Im off those days, so should be able to tackle it with ease.

Current temp - 2°F headed down to - 5°F. Will load the oakleaf with good ol ash and maple tonight once these coals burn down some. We are also running the pellet stove. Stay warm!

It's about 8-ish here tonight with snow. I didn't even see it in the forecast the other day when I looked. I saw the snow was coming for Sunday. But not for tonight. Now we may possibly get 3" or so. Oh well. Then between Sunday and Sunday night a total of 5-10 " maybe.

I've got Ash and what looks like a little Oak I found in one of the stacks . o_O Nice.

Looking at -16 C ( about 4 F), but warming slightly overnight, and some great weather on the way. Poplar and a stick of willow in the reactor.
