I don't have one but I love the technology. TEG's or thermo electric generator's also called a Peltier. I have thought of getting one but both of my stoves are inserts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't have one either but I have read what owners have said in threads past. Sounds like they work but only so-so. Some call them more of a conversation piece
Bingo! I have one that was given to me by my inlaws 4 years ago. I can put my hand in front of it and almost feel air movement. Im sure it helps a little bit but it doesnt displace much air. I would miss it if I didnt have it but the version I have I believe would cost me around $100 so not sure I would replace it.
Not worth the price if you want it to move some air. For a conversation piece, then perhaps worth it. Even if they do work, most stoves won't be at the top heating temperature long enough to do much good in the house. In addition, if you really want to move warm air, move the cool instead and you will be amazed at how much better this works. Sounds odd, but it works. Mainly for the simple reason that cool air is more dense than warm air. This is why it is so difficult to move that warm air. But a really small fan set on its lowest speed blowing air into the stove room will really move a lot of that warm air out to warm the rest of the house. btw, I did buy one years ago just to satisfy my wife's curiosity. I think we sent it back within 2 or 3 days as it just can not possibly move much air.

I had one of these fans on my Mansfield. I moved and even though it was not left behind, it was never to be seen again. I sure miss it and don't have the bucks to replace it. For me, it was an important visual indication on how the fire was doing. No need to get up off the chair, I could tell how things were doing from across the room depending on how fast it was spinning.
