Probably not. Night like these I will wake up around 3am and not be able to get back to sleep. I'm sure the soothing sound of a plow going by around 4 will do it if I sleep in.

Yesterday I left my day job about 30 minutes early to account for increased commute time (usually 45 minutes on a good day). Got my snow blowing done and it started back up with heavy snow. Half an hour later, as I left for my night job, it turned to sleet. Love trying to look thru an ice glazed windshield at night, with oncoming headlights :hair:

The drive home last night was better as it was just lightly sleeting so the windshield stayed clear. They hadn't touched the roads so traction actually wasn't too bad - I was going 40 in a 55 (in 4WD of course).

Got up this morning and we have an inch or so of sleet piled up and still coming down hard. Emailed work that I would be in late as I will wait until it warms up a bit to melt the stuff. Heck, I'm not even sure I could get in the truck at this point anyway - I would be chipping on the ice for a while. Sure, I could make it to work, but it isn't life and death if I don't make it in at 5:30 so I will be smart about it.

Their calling for a Nor'Easter Thursday (after 40-50* today) crazy swings in the weather this year!

Leaving it alone last night was the right call for me. Got up and out at 4:30am this morning and it was raining pretty good on top of what was now about 3" of ice crusted snow. The snow blower bit through easily and then shoveled what was left behind on the driveway. Likely leaving work early today to clean up around the house before tomorrows storm comes in. Whatever isnt cleaned today will be frozen tomorrow.

I really should just burn my last few days of last years vacation time but trying to save those for the big one................................
