Looks like a friction fit, it's a bit bent out of shape. Will have to wait for the King to cool down completely before repair.

Here are the pictures, uglier than I thought. Just emailed Tabbi, the nice lady at USSC who helped me get the replacement switch for the blower when I found it to be damaged back when I first bought it. Hoping this will fall under some sort of warranty.

Looks like it's time for a new one!

Yep, surprised it couldn't last a full season. Going to try to pound it back into shape tomorrow to try to get us through til I can get a replacement. It's the furnace for tonight.

I burned a USSC stove for three years and didn't have a problem with a baffle. But wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the stove. It did a great job heating though! Used only the stove and kept my house plenty warm. Customer service took a long time to get through to. For the price they are a good stove, but I am really liking the BK I have now.

That really sucks. Anyone else out there have that problem?

Yeah, this certainly isn't my last stove. It was meant to get us through about two seasons until we could afford something nicer. We just needed more output that the Lopi Answer could provide.

To not last a season? I'd be P.O'd.

Even the paint externally didn't hold up very well? That thing looks pretty old.

Did you have a lot of overfire situations?

    Bummer
Might get a new part thru the company, free.
    Have them overnight it,

I'd think it should last a season

How is the baffle held in place, Grizz?
That thing looks like hellz got a hold of it then spit it out.
Seems like an extremely short lifespan. I agree with Dave, seems like it should be a warranty issue.
    Good luck.

There is a seem at the back it drops into and a bar in the front it hooks over. It has seen a few hot fires but not enough to warrant this.

That whole setup isn't even a year old??? I would have guessed 10+.

    What's with all the rust?

I'm starting to wonder how it was stored at the store. It was a floor model, was in a tent at one time too. Put stove in pprobably in sept or so. Parts of the chimney are older.

The flue is what looks the best. IMO.

Was it that rusty when you got it? That insane for it to get that bad, so fast.

I'd be calling USSC. And at least getting some Satin black Stove Bright paint and a baffle.

If you are talking about the stove top, that's from cooking on it a lot. We blacken it now and then.
