dgeesaman stopped by today to help me dropping and clearing out my dead standing chestnut oaks. I really appreciated his assistance with these trees, they are pretty gnarly so I definitely wasn't going to working on them alone. The Husq 372 and a pair of MS461's got good workouts. All together a great day in the woods. Dave went home with some nice rounds for his troubles.
Great work guys! As much as I like to work alone in the woods, some projects require 2 people. You certainly can get a lot more done with 2 people than 1. Usually a lot more than you could in twice the amount of time as 1 person.
I was in the woods cutting also today along with my trusty hound Daisy. It was a beautiful day if we were closer I would've stopped by.
Not to play devil's advocate but...running good saws on a nice day with a buddy in the woods. And a tractor to boot? If that's work, sign me up!!
That's the truth. Especially for me today. I got to do all the glamour work of felling and running the tractor and Dave was super kind to the support work. Anyways, it was really a great day, even though the first tree we dropped turned into a complete cluster f.
I get to play Pick-Up Sticks in the woods today. Yeah! And better yet, I got to pick up my wife at the airport this morning.
This is great that 2 good Hoarders could get together for some fun times and also get a little bit of work done too. One more thin that makes this forum great.
Another beautiful day to be out in the woods. The sun even made a brief appearance at the end of the day. I bucked and skidded the saw logs from the trees we dropped yesterday, Anchor sealed the ends and tallied the logs. The total board-feet of the logs is 941 Doyle, 1236 Scribner and 1388 International. Now I'm definitely set for a solid day of bandsaw milling. Anyone interested in helping out on the milling date (probably 2-3 week from now) is welcome. PM me and we can make arrangements.
Cleaning up the leftovers from last weekend. Put another row of rounds up today. Plenty still left on the ground waiting for me.
It's great to see you guys out and getting some wood in, I'm getting the itch myself to start dropping some trees and get going. But after today that won't be too practical as we have a nor'easter coming that will drop close to two feet on top of the foot we already have here. it's hard to get much done in the deep snow. So for now I'll have to watch the rest of you do what I'm wanting to do. Boy, you have some great looking logs there, enjoy!
