Now you just need to get that 372xp masterminded and that thing will really scream! I'd wait till the warranty runs out though. I am waiting for the warranty to run out on my stihl 661 to get some work done to it!
Yep the old 55 is going to a 16" bar going on 13 years of some pretty hard use she still runs like new! Surprisingly enough the 372 doesn't handle much different at all! I love it already! As for cord count..... hmmmmm? Maybe three? Have to keep that updated
Good job, had to get my firewood hauling fix on here since I got home too late to get out, had the saw all sharp and ready to go. Maybe tomorrow after church.....I think I'm down around 22 cords and don't want to have to cut the legs off the oak chairs.
Got back on the pile around 730 this am and got another load cut and loaded alone but I jumped the gun unloading before I snapped a picture that's why there's two shots made it home unloaded and drove back in a half hour round trip even with stopping for coffee and donuts for the Mrs. And the little guy. Got back to the pile around 930 grabbed the rest of the first pile (load #4) Also helped my brother with a big chunk of apple he's going to make into a table. Got home and had everything unloaded and cleaned up by 1030
When your coffee cup looks like this you know it's been a pretty good morning! One more shot for the heck of it let my brother give'er a little rip so I'm guessing 1 1/2- 2 cords between yesterday and today and Probly almost 3 cord in the other pile I've got to get at yet. We also found basswood, black walnut and some beech today to add to the mix.
J. Dirt this is fantastic! Should set you up for quite some time. Hope that saw proves to be the best.
When that happens to my mug, I'll either just blow off most of the chips or take off the top for a swig. A little bit o' chips won't hurt a thing. Fiberlicious.
Got the second tank of gas through it today and I love it!!!!!!!! Its sporting a full skip chain at the moment (had to try it) but I think I'm going to go to the full comp for general use shes got more than enough snort to spin it the skipper seems it will be better suited on bigger wood.
I let them wash right in when I take a swig and pack it right between the ol' cheek n gum. I'm liking the ash flavor today...
P.S. had a little to much ash again if anyone noticed the busted peavey in the one truck load picture? OOOPS cost of doing business I guess, have to hunt down a new handle this week
Well had two piles to get when I started this thread. Pile one is all of the above pictures and pile two was a little bigger! Just when I was planning to get pile #2 plans changed and it was given to another person ... Not to worry! The guy that offered me the first piles had another! So today was the day!
6:45 took the truck over to survey the area and figure out a road in and out without getting buried since it was 45F and rising there's a lot of mud and water around. A little after 7 I ran home and got the real wood hauler to get the logs to the road.not a bad morning for a drive , a little windy today but low 50's
Dumb me didn't take any action shots but through a ditch, 300 yards across freshly hydro axed and bulldozer ripped ground with a hundred pointy stumps (the guy clearing likes an angled back cut) but got all that was on the ground from 2"- 8" diameter and from 4' to 14' long ash, elm, and a few pieces of walnut and managed to not get stuck and left minimal mess Load 1 from dad's short bed f150 Load 2 on my truck 8' bed with sides Load 3 on my truck And the last of it on the wagon The timber across the front of the wagon is 8' wide just for some scale and she's almost 12' long
Sad thing of all this is that the land had been farmed since the 1880's now it's going to be houses and up until about 18 years ago it was hay and pasture ground then it was left lay and all these trees took over. I grew up across the road, moved in 26 years ago so it was quite neat to watch the transformation and to be able to use some the wood from land I played and hunted in rather than it going to the grinder
