On some B, depending on service, features, etc. / what equipment is installed at time of provisioning.. *Like options on an automobile, if you didn't request the feature, it may not be present in the equipment.

G - re: Battery, and the equipment @ your Honey's place - that equipment is service-leased by the provider, best to contact the appropriate provider with any equipment questions, issues, etc. -they own it.

re: "Guaranteed service", there's no written law the provider "has" to provide data-based VOIP service to the customer. They are allowed to sell you the battery pack as an 'add-on' feature though. *Best to invest in / install the equipment on a good quality UPS in this case: it will last as long, if not longer, than the battery pack in the provider's device.

re: WiFi - if you contact the provider & explain the WiFi issue, they should replace the defective equipment, if that's what you want. * Otherwise, if you have access to the device's WiFi menu, best to just turn it off, it isn't working anyway / no need to have any kind of signal emanating from that device.

Otherwise, what you did is excellent.

Weather man is talking the S word and possibly the I word by weeks end.

Finally after a long sojourn it is time for our 3 rd and final shell run of this season.

The weather has been a pain for weeks and weeks and weeks, then last week was lovely and the nut plant was running a batch of hybrid stuff with real thin shells.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo... I am not experimenting with an unknown on this stuff.

Been burning the standard stuff for years and years and years and don't want to upset the apple cart now.

December and January saw us plow through at least 3000 pounds of shells.

Time to gitterdone for the last time this season.

With foul weather coming I feel far more at ease with a full stock of shells.

Still have about 25 fifty gallon barrels full of shells in the out building, butttttttttttttt, bettter to have too much than not enough.

Been sn*wing on and off since 10:30 ish here. Couple of inches of light fluffy chit. Son was dismissed from school at around 11:00 or so. Almost ready to check out here and do the slide home thing. Looks like it may last until early AM before its all said and done with. Supposed to get between 2 - 4 inches of white crap. With the high's of tomorrow and Thursday. Shouldn't stick around too long. But we'll shovel it JIC........

Word there may be a bigger storm come Sunday into Monday?

a couple inches here. i had a meeting in Colchester tonight but it got cancelled. i don't mind driving in the snow, and i like to see the idiots off in the ditch, but the risk of one of them running into me or snarling traffic for hours makes it easy to stay by the fire with some good sippin' liquor. So that's my plan!:drunk::drunk:

My modem/emta is on a ups as well as having the battery in it. I do have an old non cordless phone in case power goes out. Bet most dont even think about that part of it-then again, most use cell phones but I have crappy reception.

Its working now with the external router so might as well leave it be. The only thing I wonder about is whether the modem is docsis 2 or 3. I might check that out next time I am there and if its an older doc 2 unit, have Comcast replace it.

Today dawned gray and rather yucky, but the skies cleared off and we got our shells in.

The load came in at 2400 pounds and by 2 pm we had it all barreled up and the equipment all put away and were sitting by a warm fire.

Still about a month of processing at the plant they told me, and we have quite a few containers that are not full.

Thinking seriously about getting a fourth load and topping things off real good.

I hate to have empty barrels laying around when they can be filled up.

The afternoon was beautiful with lottsa sunshine and no wind.

Weather folks are still yapping about Snow, Frzzzz rain and just plain nasty weather.

    Let it happen, we're ready.

I listen to American 50's Radio using Kodi I use Kodi on at least 5 systems. But the playing I was doing was with Yast and several thousand application systems on OpenSUSE Leap 42.2 on my I7 box.

You are a *NIX Jedi Master, STB. .. And Good Tunes make the World seem better, while playing.

I'm testing CryptoWare prevention utilities in conjunction with customized GPO objects, and DNS fencing, on Windoze  Server 2012/2016 for SMB client deployment here - the temptation of Beer is increasing, with each passing minute. :picard:

This sounds like much more fun.
