BTW, what aspect of the quad auger is not not right for you?
So far I had good luck with my shed Sante Fe quad.

Quad auger is a spring with no flights to carry the fines like a standard auger does.

They tend to let the fines build up and reduce pellet flow unless you clean and vacuum out the excessive fines.

Only issue I had was with bedding pellets that carried far more fines. Never had a jam, But did seem to loose some feed rate unless I vacuumed the fines here or there.

My friends has a Quad Castille and those fines choked it up....lost about half its heating power.

My stove chews em right up.

I have 2 issues with them.

Fines is #1.. like stated above. And the #2 reason is because it's a Spring and and not a Screw/Cylinder type auger. The Spring just carries any pellet up the hopper chute. Even 3" long pellets. Then they bridge in the drop chute.

A Screw/Cylinder style only has so much room between the auger screws. So if it's to long? It gets cut to size.

On the flip side, they tend to be a little quieter because they are not cutting pellets and the screw isn't rubbing on the cylinder (auger flight). So it has one pro, but has two cons.

Almost no fines when using quality pellets. Different hopper design... I promise this is how it looked when I got home at 3am ish.
Besides you can't even see the auger in that pic. In six seasons I've never vacuumed my hopper. You should of seen my wife's reaction when I took that pic...
My dealer triple screens the pellets and bags them about 50 miles from here, not many fines.

    I guess I'm the rare exception. :D

If dats all you got fur fines, I can see why your quad isn't having issues!

The AE has the spring too. Correct?

I kind of like the Quad augers, as long as you clean the fines as often or more than suggested they do fine. It's also a lot easier to pull the auger and re-install in the case of a jam without having to empty the whole hopper.

That said, every pellet stove has it's personal issues :p

No pellets were harmed in these experiments.

    Humans on the other hand?
