Down to about 16 or 17 just before I hit the hay. Calling for 10 for a low. Ash and Maple in the boiler.
We had 11 here in the pines this morning with the sleeper at 73, the P.S. is off and at 9 I'll build a fire in the liberty.
Well the high today is 20 so the warm spell with daytime high above freezing is over for this week... of course warm daytime Temps and 1 to 3 inches of snow each night are a gaad recipe for icy driveway! burning ash and red maple not cold enough to work stove so just Cho choin.. aling
Don't know what the wind chill was all day, but it was c-c-c-c-c-cold! And snow...not much, just enough to make you put the shovel down-2".
They say we're heading to -1 (3 at the moment) so I loaded up the Liberty with Sugar Maple, Beech and one round of Ironwood that has been inside since last winter and the Pellet Stove is set at 78 so we have heat throughout the night.
It was supposedly 40ºF today but it sure didn't feel like it. Not supposed to get above freezing tomorrow so probably won't be letting the stove get down to just a small handful of coals before reloading. I much prefer the stove cranking over doing the morning ritual 3 or 4 times a day. For weeks, like it was March or October. It is nice heating the whole house with a little stove in January though instead just 2/3 of it.
