What's your favorite 2-stroke oil?

Not really Clemson but it is the brand they sell at the gas bar that is kinda close to us. The Lucas is whats used mostly.
$10 for the Trax.

$7 for the Lucas.

 

I was thinking mabe it was some local niche market or something? Maybe a local old vendor? Still may be?

 

As far as I can remember its the stuff they have always sold. Havent seen it anywhere else though?

Even mixing 40:1 it is kinda hard to tell it is a mixed container as the blue doesn't show up very well.

 

That's the major thing I don't like about the Amsoil I am useing. It's red. Now red is cool and shows up well in saws but in a red gas can it's impossible for me to tell it's mixed, even at 32:1. Maybe it has to do with my mild colorblindness, I don't know?

 

I try to keep the mixed stuff on the bike at all times for this reason but that doesn't always work out.

The Trax stuff is blue as blue can be in the jug but when ya add it to the high test it thins out way too much.

No second guessing with the synthetic stuff.

 

I write MIX on my gas can and ONLY put MIX in it but am paranoid sometimes about straight gassing so I check sometimes.

 

Got a half dozen cans hanging around and they all have 'mixed' wrote on them somewhere.

 

Get some carb cleaner and clean it all off except the real mix can

 

Ya but that would take time outta my woodcutting.

Been looking the odd time for one of those yellow cans but only have found 5 gallon ones and they don't fit on the back of the bike.

 

Yellow is diesel, not to many folks have a use for a 1 or 2 gallon diesel can?

 

We got a few of them at work but I am looking for a 1.5 gallon can as they fit in the back of the bike perfect.

 

Really. Seriously, thinking about it I can't say I have ever seen smaller than a 5gal yellow can? I'm sure I can go on ebay and find one but I am talking in the real world. I guess they have them for small portable heaters and maybe small stationary generators or sailboat single cylinder motors?

Yellow spray paint will work also, I'm thinking..

 

I think spray paint will fleck off. But probably last a season at least and then put more. One can would probably paint a can 4x

 

I wonder if something like that flex seal would hold ? Wouldn't want to cover the whole can but maybe bottom 1/4th

 

I imagine that stuff is not fuel resistant either.

 

I've used Saber since 1977. 100 - 1 all the way to 32 - 1 with great results. Currently at 32 - 1, since my snowblower has bushings instead of roller bearings and it at least smells like fun when I have to clear the driveway from snow!

 

I just mixed up a batch of Motul 800 but haven't tried it yet. I used to run Amsoil, but learned that it gave me headaches, I've had good luck with Maxima K2 also.

 

Have about a years use using legend in the 461 since new @ 50:1
10-15 cord plus miscellaneous cutting.
I have run a gallon +- of other mix, but the 461 has no complaints yet piston and muff look like new.
I should see how the plug looks...
I like it in all my two smokes, specially with power valves, they don't gum up.
