You've convinced me to order these. A decent cigar at $2 a stick is a buy.

Hope you like 'em. They also have a counter-part. It is a very mild connecticut wrapped stick and just called mark twain.
Its good but mild. Yup, mild-kinda reminds me of a version of 5vegas gold. good and mild.

    But they are mild.....

    Nicaraguan.

Those are the ones I've seen before. The Memoir looks more to my liking.

So many of you let the cigars set in a humidor before smoking them, I have a ghetto humidor that helps and so far my cigars seem to be holding up better. I guess they get better the longer they sit in the humidor?

Some get better with the time that passes, yes.

Curious; just what is a ghetto humidor? Pic?

I got some maduro cigars that I smoked one right off the truck and was sorely disappointed. What the heck were all those people writing the reviews talking about anyway? A couple (7-8) months later, I found out what they were talking about!

Now then, the ci fresh rolled cuban wheel was half smoked today and found it to be enjoyable. I had about 1/3 and then had a re-light 8 hours later. As soon as it got rid of the old re-lit ash, it tasted the same as it was before.

Probably order some more, but I'll wait for a good deal and not the norm of what everyone else plays.

Correct.... I usually let them rest for a couple of weeks to normalize in humidity from there travels... some will mellow out and gain there own personality as the age in a controlled environment.

Thats what is called a coolerdor. I have two full sized one right now. They work great....I use a tub with water soaked sponges for the moisture source and an hygrometer in each one to monitor humidity. What is the baking soda for? Over moisture absorption? I used to use kitty litter in a nylon sock (pantyhose) tied off in a knot, but I never really needed it.

The baking soda is just to help remove the plastic smell when you first set up the coolidor.

I like your spelling better. Coolidor. Too many R's rolling off the tongue with the way I spelled it....sounded a bit like Charo when I pronounced it!!

I just cleaned mine out with soap and water and let them air dry for a few days. Fine.
I also bought some wire shelving rack from menards that after I cut them down, fit right into the grooves that were molded into the inside of the cooler. I stand one on end with the three levels of storage in it that way.

48 qt. Here is an image showing the inside grooves....

I was a little embarrassed to say I used a cooler for a humidor (hence the nickname ghetto humidor) as many of you must have nice ones, I did not realize it was so popular of an option.:D

I do have a few cherry humidors that fit about 20 but I prefer the coolidor by far and large!

No apologies necessary; no cigar snob here!

This is a wood burning forum so I must say charcoal would have done a much better job at removing the oder also crumpled news paper

Hey! I take offense to that statement.
Coolidor or tupperdors are the way to go when you don't want to spend the premium for a $1000 cabnit. Who has that kinda money laying around?!?! I do scrounge CL sometimes looking for one on a good deal tho

That is what I found on the net (baking soda) did not have to use anything on my coolidor.

I used crumpled news paper in my 2 150qts did the job.

Computer fans and bovedas keep them at 62% which is my preferred number after much experimentation. Was using silica kitty litter but ran out on last change and switched back. Problem with water and sponges is they only add moisture they don't regulate. Kitty litter at least can usually regulate a little if rh climbs a little. Bovedas are expensive but so are my Cigars so I like not having to think about it.

IMG_1432.JPG Finally was able to catch a deal on Cigarbid. $1.45 a stick. 64 ring. It's a lotta cigar. They'll be taking a nap in the Humi for a couple months. Might grab one and give it a try sooner and will let you all know what I think.
