I had a couple requests to post pictures and keep a running log of the pre-production IS that Woodstock dropped off yesterday.
This winter in central Vermont found the limits of the much smaller Hearthstone Shelburne and I am especially interested to see if the IS can hold the temps in my house over the entire night. Last night dropped to -18F. I loaded it at 9p, brought the stovetop temp to 560 degrees, shut it to 10% open and at 6a the house was the same 72F as when I went to bed. I am already impressed with the short learning curve.
    Here are some specifics:

Stove is on the 1st floor of a fairly new, well insulated cape
    1900 sqft
double wall stovepipe with a probe thermometer (not yet installed)
~23 feet of Class A chimney running outside the house

I am keeping diary of observations to send back to WS but let me know what questions are out there.

Welcome aboard. If you bump that thermometer over so it is just right of center you will probably notice 25-50 degrees higher temps. not sure why that is exactly but the heat seems to concentrate there.

Who ever sits next to that couch might find things a little warm. I just stuff my IS full to the gills tonight, trying to warm this place up before this snow moves in tomorrow. The heat output is something else, I have had the same 72 degree wakeup temps since I got mine. Enjoy yourself. I'll be curious to see how the light color hangs in after some use.

    Yep, welcome to the FHC.
The collar looks a bit different than Flamestead and Brian's. Has the design changed on that?

Nice! Another Fleur de lis stove. My daughter likes the color scheme you picked. Here's a pic from Woodstock's Facebook page:

    Nice high BTU wood !
    The good stuff :)

When/if you can give some birch another year or 2 covered & give it a try.
I notice a huge difference with the 3 year birch here.

I think the production collar is supposed to be cast. Maybe reversible?

It does look different. Also note the decorative cut-out on the door hinge, and you can see the draft setting indicator cut into the ash lip..

Looking forward to hearing more experiences!

The draft handle is a hand?

WS brought both versions of the collar. This one happend to fit better, and I think it looks a little better too. I don't know if one is more recent or not and I didn't really look at the second one.
One thing I did notice is some major heat coming off the blockoff plate at the back.
The "helping hand" is hanging there--- seemed like a good place to keep it.
Hard evidene that the stove works: At some point every night the dog would get up from in front of the old stove and move to her crate as it cooled. The past two nights she was sound asleep in front of the Steel when I woke up.

That stove has neat written all over it, the fact that it works well is a plus.

The couch: Yes it is close. Yes it is still within spec. Yes, I still plan to move it :)
According to code I could put a can of gasoline where the couch ends-- doesn't mean I should though. Since it was there I am keeping an eye on it but figured it'll have to be moved. I'm less worried about combustion than I am about the fabric breaking down over time. So far it gets a little warm but not more than the part I warm up after sitting on it for awhile-- mostly watching the secondaries in the stove :)

Does Woodstock have "official" UL clearances for combustible surfaces yet for the new stove?

If its any thing like my Summit it would not hurt it at all, with the side shields it puts out very little heat from the sides.:(

Not yet. I just have conserative numbers fromWS. 12 inches on the corners.
The tile on all sides does get very hot. I should pick up an IR thermometer. I put some aluminum foil under the stove and after that the slate stayed completely cool to the touch. I imagine the ash pan would block most of the heat underneath.
