They just had small tears in the bags so very few pellets missing. Grabbed the whole cart full which ended up being 11 bags but only got charged for 9.

Nice score Rich , nothing wrong with that I'm sure they'll burn much better at $3 / bag + 2 freebies

I did that last year and although some bags had clumped pellets due to moisture, it was well worth the effort. My score this year is a ton of Vermont Wood Pellets for $190 from a CL ad. I've not burned those before but tried a couple of bags earlier this week and I'm amazed how little ash was produced and the absence of any carbon buildup in the burnpot.

I got 6 bags of Vermonts a couple of years ago and they were hot and clean. You will really appreciate them with the colder weather coming up.

don't need anymore pellets for this year but I couldn't resist for 3 bucks a bag, had good luck with the GT in the past. I'm trying to burn up what I got because my pellet storage shed is shot and I wanna build a new bigger one over the summer. I can only get 2 ton in my current shed but i'm gonna build the new one big enough for 3 ton plus room to store my new back up stove which currently sits next to my tool box at work. I got a 24 x 48 garage that I can put stash in but then I gotta lug bags up and down steps as opposed to the shed that sits right outside my back door.

I don't need pellets either, but for $3/bag, I wouldn't have resisted either. I've never burned GT's since they are a premium price around here, so it would give me a chance to try them out.

GT are burning good, not as hot as NO but ash is about the same and the glass stays cleaner with the GT, not worth the 5.69 premium price but a good buy at the 3 bucks a bag.

I'm surprised. They were always a pretty hot pellet back when I burned them.

X2, Not a bad pellet when prices were decent.

I just scored (wrong word) 35 bags of NEWP. I know what you are all thinking but back in the day they were a good pellet for the money. Since these are free, I just could pass them up....I own two Harmans. They burn anything......

Oh heck yah! Never pass up free even if they are total crap. Nothing better than free heat........

Err, Lemme rethink that. First would be free beer, Then free food. Se..(err I better not say dat!!) and then free pellets. :D

Backstory: My Buddy is a high end residential building contractor. He's renovating a house and the homeowner had a pellet stove and they took it out and junked it. He was a former pellet burner himself and knew I was still burning. Asked me if I wanted 30 bags for free. Turns out it's nearly a ton and he already loaded them on a pallet for easy loading into my truck....... I am buying his beers on Fridays for the foreseeable future.

NEWPs aren't horrid pellets, just overpriced for what they are. Free is definitely a price you can't pass up!
