Smoke 'em if ya got 'em. That almost happened to me once. The branch swung around and hit the ladder. Luckily, I had it tied off at the top to the tree. Scared the chit out of me.
When I was a young buck, Dad took me outside to show me something. He grabbed the chainsaw and explained the rules of cutting to me. He said never cut with the chainsaw while on a ladder. He then explained how I was never to cut anything above my head with the chainsaw. Dad then proceeded to climb up the ladder and cut a limb over his head with the chainsaw. He looked at me and said, "just so you know what it looks like. Don't ever do that!"
Well right off you could tell he didn't know what he was getting into. Besides, he never made a cut on the bottom of the limb before cutting it on the top. Just another dumb guy that knows nothing about sawing or trees. Good lesson for the kids though.
a couple steps up a 6' step ladder..pfft Fully extended 28' on the back of my pickup truck and the GF b$%&#$ and went inside while I perfectly dropped a 40' oak limb hanging over the pool - my drunk buddy "encouraging me all the way" She learned that day to NOT tell me what I "shouldn't be doing" back notched and fell exactly where I scratched the ground

Omg those are terrible. I do not have experience in cutting trees, but why would you have your ladder extended over where you are making your cut! I could not watch anymore, surprised these guys did not end up dead!
