Well been pretty busy and kinda stressed, but hopefully today will be better. My oldest son, the new father, has been having problems swallowing for the last few months. He was diagnosed with Achalasia, the muscle at the bottom of his esophagus will no longer open properly to allow food and water into his stomach. He has lost 55 lbs. over the last 2 months and he had to go to hospital to be hydrated last week. He needed to have a surgery to open the muscle and have a "flap" installed to keep food in his belly. The doctors and insurance company have been dragging there feet and being basically negligent for weeks and well that is another story. Son finally his surgery on Tuesday night and yesterday was drinking water and had a bit of jello, his first meaningful hydration in weeks. Going to be a few more weeks before he can really eat something but the process has begun. My wife has been with him in Westchester Medical for the last few days due to his wife caring for our little grandson. Both will be home today.

    Doggy

$280 at the moment per ton, but spring buy pricing should push it down a bit, i hope.

Tough situation for sure. I hear the horror stories of insurance companies doing anything possible to not pay out. Dont accuse the docs so fast, they likely are being hand tied by insurance companies that wont allow them to actually treat patients properly.

Funny we pay thousands of dollars per year for premiums for health insuramce plus have 4-5K co-pays before any real payout from the ins co happens and all they do is try and block you from being treated.

Good reason not to go to work-its too dangerous

Co corker has had a miserable cold for almost 4 weeks now that keeps morphing to another symptom. Since she hasnt had a fever her doctors office isnt making it a priority and told her they could get her an appt in March . Me, I would get another doctor real fast. Although it likely that it just needs torun its course, she really should be seen at this point.

Burning 2 vacation days from last year. Its use em or lose em but there just wasnt a good time to take off so I carried 4 over that I will use up shortly. 2 more to go :)

Today I took advantage of the warm sunshine and spent 3-4 hours outside cleaning the driveway and around the house from the sn*w storm. It was actually really nice to be outside doing mindless stuff while getting some air and sunshine and now the driveway is clear of all crud and ice.

It IS dangerous, they're all infected with the Zombie Virus.

It's all good, I can work from home / remote in when needed , and disinfect -everything- when I am there, it's the same - some folks have been battling the crud going on weeks now. Dr.'s keep telling them "to take 2 aspirin, and call back in a month".

Youngest tried calling the local medical center today to make an appt. for routine checkup, b4 heading to Japan in March - got disconnected 3 times on transferring the call.. Good thing she's not actually sick or anything. :picard:
