Current temp 24°F headed down to 16°F. We'll have 4"- 8" moving in tomorrow afternoon. Just loaded the stove with uglies for the overnight.
Low 20's overnight and then back to the mid 30's for tomorrow. then three days of highs in the 40's!! Running low on tires to burn to help deplete the ozone, but at least it seems to be working!
Can't help you with the tire thing, but I got skids. 26 here now, burning shoulder season small stuff.
33 out burnin ash Overnight, Freezing Rain Advisory, Rain/Freezing, Rain and Fog. Low: 32 °F Tuesday High: 42 °F, Rain and Fog, then Chance Rain and Fog
Looking at -4 C (25? F) and it won't get much colder. Quite the system shock. Burning dinosaur juice as the stove pipe is getting a sweep in the morning. I might even clean the glass.
Current temp 14° going up to 36° today. Just threw in a load of ash and maple. 3"- 6" of snow expected this early evening.
57 degrees with wind and rain. I've let the wife tend the owb since last Friday as I've been working some long hours. Burning down charcoal is on my schedule. 30's to 40's over the next couple days.
47º outside, 73º inside. Heading for 57º today so the stove will be burning down last nights coals then I will start back up tonight.......another day at the hospital with my Dad today.
This warm spell is working out great for the OWB since I am into some small stuff (fit for an epa stove size) from the stacks now. I am back to building 1/2 a fire in the OWB....that is, only half of a normal load (one side) is enough! Should be in the mid-30's again today.
36° and quite a bit of ice out there. All of the schools are closed and a bunch of other stuff also. I tossed in some spalted maple in just before daylight and it should be good for awhile.
I'm not sure what the temp was this morning (maybe 18) but we've been going with just the wood stove, it's 32 with some rain at the moment.
Probably won't have a fire here for a week. 45-50º during the day, 35-40º at night is almost too warm for a fire. HHO is $1.94 . Makes my oak worth about $300/cord. If it was 3 or 4 bucks a gallon I'd be burning wood. At these temps, I'll keep the oak. Maybe a pine fire in the morning and let it go out by 9 or 10. Especially if it is sunny and the solar gain heats up the house. Play it by ear in the evening.
Its warm here today. We got up to 2c/35.5f and currently sitting at 0c. I dont recall the last time we bumped up over freezing! Supposed to be a warm (for us) kind of week so Ill have to be careful not to over heat the house. Looking forward to cutting back on the wood consumption thats for sure. I came home to a few tiny coals in the stove but managed to save the fire and throw a few doug fir splits in the stove.
Current temp 32°F going down to 24°F. Beginning to snow, up to 6" expected ending sometime tomorrow morning. Just loaded the oakleaf with a mix of birch, Maple, and ash.
It's 32 with the temp trending down, it's also raining out so the driveway will be like a skating rink again.....not even safe with cleats on the boots. I'll be loading up the Liberty with whatever is in the racks.
