Lol, it's not(well, it was for about an hour). I cranked up the stove and turned my fans off to cure the last piece to the blacked out Jonsered, a freshly painted clutch cover. It sure did a good job attracting it.

    No snakes in Alaska

turn it loose, give it a chance
Might be a local conservation group that would take it

This. Let him hang around down there for the winter, he will more than earn his keep.

With the warm up coming, you should be able to release her then. Find a rock outcropping that's been in the sun if at all possible.

Contact your local fish and wildlife agency or conservation group. They may have a suggestion.

We would find snake skins in our outside stacks but I don't remember any live snakes but I guess that is due to the time of year we were working with the stacks. Another good reason not to be out working the stacks in the heat of summer.;)

Ask the Game Warden? Maybe a school or a pet store would take it in for the winter.

Hope the misses didn't see that. Wood burning may be out the door if one shows in my basement. Love snakes, and would never kill that thing, but wife doesn't share the enthusiasm.

Take it back outside and release it where it can find shelter. I would love to have him/her here to take care of the voles. I have seen green garter snakes in the gardens but the most are the black rat snakes and a few copperheads; I once stepped barefooted on a copperhead that was going into the shed to hunt for mice; it continued on its way; never saw it again.

Don't kill it, that would be mean; it is of no danger to you or your family. I don't understand this fear of all snakes. I once took a rattlesnake off the hiking trail; using a very long branch of course, because I knew someone would come along and think they had to kill it.

Wow! Never thought so many would defend a snake!

A vole infestation can wipe out an entire orchard; snakes help to keep voles under control as well as mice and other pests.

I find those in the garden all Summer. Constantly find them in the cucumbers and sometimes the strawberries. Don't know what they find there but sometimes every day. Sometimes I come close to running over them cutting the lawn. A snake will defend itself but usually they just want to get away and back to laying around waiting for something good to eat. I leave them be. Figure they are good to have around. Even the all black ones.

I'd toss it out on a warm day.
