Ash for sure. Nice score, how much you get? The only kind I'll be burning for a while now. So many dead trees here. Burns great IMO. Had a Craigslist deal setup last year, I was gonna give a cord and a half for a husqvarna concrete saw, guy showed up and saw it was all ash and didn't want the wood. Told me ash was terrible burning wood, I still can't figure out what that crazy guy was talking about? I've never heard anyone say ash was terrible wood, guys gotta be in the minority and a bit off right?

Ash is great firewood. For all around quality it is one of the best, imho. Easy to split, fast seasoning(although I prefer to give it two summers), good btu's, good coaling. The "market" is flooded right now because of EAB but when it dries up we are all going to wish we had more ash to burn.

I'm sure we've all told ourselves that more than once, I know I have. That lasts for about two or three weeks until I come across another scrounge. Something just pulls me to it, it's beyond my control. Nice work this far though!

Tell your girl I'm on her side, she's right again! I have enough wood for 4 years out, maybe more, but find myself splittin' and stackin' anyway :woodsign:

Easy to identify now. But look for the "W" in the bark.
Of coarse you can see the small holes in the bark and the bark turning tan and silver as it starts to peel off
