I have about 40 cords that I need to cover this year and I'm wondering what everybody likes. I can get some reclaimed coordinated tin that I think would be good. Who uses what and what have you found to be the best option?
I prefer a permanent structure with steel roofing. If you are going to cover piles, I would say the tin would be the best option. Durable compared to most other options. 40 cords? Gotta see a pic of that volume
Reclaimed black rubber roofing. Flaps down over on the ends, couple screws to hold it down, and folds up nice and tight for storage.
Try a demolition Co. Roofing Co. We have a demo co. here that has a resale store. Can buy almost anything there.
Overkill, yup got it. My nickname outside of here is sniper, but aren't we all family here I figure he would give me roofing as I am his brother
Crazy I drove by there hundreds of times prior to joining this forum. ..... guess I will stick to the steel cover for now.
Check with a local COMMERCIAL roofing company...Be nice, and bring beer, cash. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
I've tried several including tarps and rubber roofing, etc but in the end decided that steel roofing is the best for us.
I really like my old rubber roofing - I place old pallets on top of my stacks and then the rubber roofing - stops the tendency of the roofing to form pockets and pools of water when placed directly on top (I stack in cubes). I found some free long sheets of steel roofing and that is working great as well - screwed it down to pallets on the top of the stacked - even with many large splits placed on top, they would blow off with good wind - all set now. Cheers!
OK! What the heck is coordinated tin? It matches the house and garage? It is size configured for the stacks? Its camouflaged to help hide the wood from the spy satellites? Or is it supposed to be corrugated?
I used to use the corrugated tin, but you had that left over of the unused portion of the length of tin dangleing in the breeae once you collected the wood from half of the pile and so on.... Currently used the left over rubber roofing....for about17 years now on the same stuff! I got it in 2000.
