    Dennis, I'm glad that helped, but.........
    Give yourself some time to heal.
    Docs at work used to give out Motrin for some serious stuff and say "you're cleared to work".
    Bad idea. All it does is mask the pain and inflammation for a while, and in the meantime, you could be making the problem worse.
    It's tough sitting around doing nothing when so much needs doing. What are the docs suggesting you do until the next treatment? Do that.
    Sounds like you don't want to get too detailed, but I hope this continues to get better for you.

    Back pain, as you know, is sometimes incapacitating and often intractable. When and if you have any corrective surgery, make darn sure you do a review of whom ever you are seeing. I've seen hundreds of clients who have had surgery. The big question to ask, are you better off after than before. This is one surgery that I always recommend a second opinion. Your want to know what is the anticipated outcome, to include limitations and effect on your life style. Good luck.

    Griz, there were 4 or 5 different meds that was shot into me but I cannot tell you what they were. I was told but don't now remember.

    I can tell you today was not fun. It is back to the same old stuff and I even had to break into the hard stuff. Wish they could hurry this thing along.

    Brian, they actually told me to go home and do anything that would set it off again! They need to know how long it lasted before I was back to the same old pain again. They hoped for 8-10 hours but it didn't last quite that long. But while it had an effect, it was great!

    I can say that the first shot was novocain but that was only to partially deaden the area so they could stick the other needles in without me jumping through the roof.

    Thanks, but as you no doubt saw in one of my other posts, they actually wanted me to do things that would make me hurt. They need to see what effect the stuff has and how long it lasts. That way, when we get to the real thing they know how much of what to use. Yesterday and next Monday are just tests to make sure it will work. If not there would be no need to take it further but go a different route.

    Dennis, I feel your pain. This RA thing is much the same.....they experiment. Really hope they figure it out for you my friend. How's your wood supply? Mine in the wood shed is down to about 3 weeks. And that is what is left of what usually lasts me an entire winter. It was -10 F last night and going there again tonight.

    Well I'll be dipped, Dennis. My apologies. You were simply following doctors' orders! (I'm so used to ornery patients that don't listen to a thing I tell them... :rolleyes: Uh ... Not that you're the ornery one there.)

    I've never heard of that but it sounds like a very progressive back clinic and they know what they're doing.

    I had to laugh at my son last evening when he called. One of his statements was, "Dad, you sound like your old self again." Guess the pain does have more effect sometimes than we realize. btw, this is the same son who one Sunday afternoon who almost had tears in his eyes when he asked, "Dad. How come you never seem to have time to play anymore?" That was when I had an office in our home and my week started on Sunday afternoon around 3:00. That was the last day for that office being there. It got moved to the proper place and my Sundays were not the start of the work week either. He really opened my eyes.

    As I read your post about your son, I reflect on my relationship with my son, and can only hope yours means as much to you, as mine does to me. It heals a lot of things. I thank God every day for my son! and the relationship we have.
