Once they start biting at nite through the ice, the Pickeral always quit? Was easy paying 2 grand a year for oil 10 years ago but the furnace went for a turd and I haven't looked back since. Tricky sometimes burning 24/7 but like you, I love it.

Well I don't know anything about chowder but I know about eating lol. Can you hook a brother up and tell me how to make some?
3 lbs. of fish. 1/4 lb cooked bacon diced. 4 potatoes diced. 4 medium Onions chopped. 1 qt. half & half ( or whole milk) 1 qt. fish stock. 2 tbsp. butter. 2 tbsp flour. salt & pepper to taste. 1) Saute Onions 2) In a stock pot, add potatoes, onions and fish stock. cook slowly until potatoes are tender, but not mushy.3) Make a rue with butter & flour, place it in pot. Cut fillets into 1" pieces and add the bacon to the pot and cook gently for 10 minutes. 4) Just before serving add the milk or cream, heat through gently but DO NOT BOIL. 5) Salt & Pepper to taste and serve with crackers. 6) Garnish with Paprika & Chives. Enjoy!
