Ladies? You been playin the field?! 100% wood heat here so far this winter (haven't left home long enough to need the oil) The bad thing about getting used to wood heat, is going to the extended families house(s) for holiday gatherings and "freezing" at 68*
I'll acknowledge that. I'm sure the new gen pumps perform much better. That said, it's likely that the one we replaced was original equipment when the house was built in 1988. Still like the tho!
That is what I said to my wife. It's very satisfying to see the family in the great room with a fire going during a big snowstorm, knowing my hard work all year pays off keeping everyone cozy and warm in the winter.....
Agreed - when we have a nor'easter roll up the coast, and it snowing sideways, I have a feeling of comfort with the wood stove going. If the power should go out - oh well. Just another log in the fire and light a few candles. Just need to have a few buckets of water available. No generator if the power goes out.
You da man........one of the guys at one of the body shops I visit just told me, we are just getting to old to be jumping off the dresser anymore....lol
It is part of my physical fitness plan. It helps us get rid of unhealthy, dead, or dangerous trees, without paying to haul them away. It gives us the heat we want without air blowing around or noise. It allows us to be as warm as we want. It saves us money. Friends who come over love it. It maybe is better for the environment than electric heat. It is fun. It saves us serious money. I could go on, but I am preaching to the choir.
Never did jump off a dresser. But I did line up mattresses in a stairwell to use as a kind of slide. Needless to say, that may or may not have gone well, depending on your perspective.
