Was going to a different spot but found the wind had taken down an elm and it was right where I wanted to go so what to do? Just cut it up and put it into the firewood stack. I should have had the splitting maul with me to see if I could have split this elm, especially with the threads lately about how it won't split. Just as well though as my body probably would not have taken the swinging of the maul today. So the wood just got threw into a pile. I still might bring some to the house to burn right away as it is prime stuff, at least most of it is. After finishing this I fell two more ash but one hung up in an oak. Mother Nature no doubt will have a hand in getting that one down. Or I'll look at that one again tomorrow.
I'm in love with that wagon! How does it hook to the quad? That's nice size wood to work with good looking setup all the way around.
That's a great thing to see Dennis! Glad you're out there cutting. Leave the heavy work for us come April. We' ll get it done.
^^^this^^^ I'll be ready to take on that elm ! Gonna be some serious destruction this year! Right, Shawn Curry , Barcroftb , DexterDay , walt ???
Good work Dennis! Glad you had a little fun. Why don't you take that stuff right to the splitter? No need to swing that maul when you've got perfectly functional hydraulics! LOL
