No way I'm gonna like that ... well, OK liked.

I'll be interested to hear if the idea works well for you and others.

Tried this out today it works fantastic, small logs, big logs, long logs, short logs, here's some pics to prove it, with the Official Gunter Hound Pack seal of approval

I figured you would be trying that out with all the polls you have around there.

I see you used a different block orientation on the last photo, with the heavy wood load. I would imagine the other way (perpendicular to the logs) worked best?

The blocks just turned that way as I loaded the logs in, I was not exactly gentle, just kind of threw them into the V, it seemed to stay pretty stable so I just went with it. The poles were too big in diameter to pass one another at the V with the blocks perpendicular, so when I loaded the logs in it torqued the blocks sideways.

Just saw this posted in a different thread. I'm gonna give that a try!

I've been using an old picnic table, flipped upside down. I have cinder blocks kicking around. This is now on my to do list!

Just got a load I need to cut down to size. Gonna give this a go. Gotta be easier and safer than cutting in a big pile. Thanks!

Yep, those are my choices, a big pile, or the po-folks sawbuck. It works great!

This is awsome!! Have enough bucking to do that I was just thinking about making one. Will give this a shot over the weekend.
Was getting tired of chasing em around on the ground.
Fantastic that you can just bust it down as opposed to finding a place to keep it out of the road.
    Too Cool!

This does seem to be very ingenious. I don't have any way to lift logs into a sawbuck so will probably have to continue with bucking logs on the ground. However, I am curious. When you have several logs in the V don't you have to worry about kickback when you are cutting the logs at the top of the V?

Well, I'll find out what issues there are, next week. I am also concerned that there might be some bar pinch, when cutting between the X's.

I think I'll setup with 3 X's to start, with 5-6 lengths that I'll cinch strap together and see how it goes.

I have never had kickback while using it. It might pinch, if so just stop and deal with it.

Biggest problem I have with a sawbuck is having the smaller diameter stuff try to climb out of the sawbuck because it is light enough that it rolls. If I put the smallest stuff under one of the larger logs everything stays put and the cuts get made.
I always reach across the pile and bring the saw back toward me so the bar tip never has anything behind what I am cutting that it can hit.

Looks easy when a skilled saw operator does it, I think I would be better off waiting until I use a saw a bit longer.
