I normally sit at a desk all week myself. This is my vacation week between the old job and the new. Best way for me to get a mental break is out in the woods.

Nice load of wood and a nice tractor to haul it with. America beech? Doesn't American beech grow with a corkscrew grain?

So here is what I got done in 2 hours. Three buckets of beech, one bucket of large hickory (first pic), and carried out 4 beech logs for some spring milling. Of course the largest log is the one fell off and is now covered with mud. I am certain these are not premium logs, but I will get some nice lumber from them. Wish I could do this for a living......hope to bring out the rest of the rounds tomorrow. Guessing 15 more buckets..... Nice looking stuff vacation this time of year is great for cutting wood  only thing I can see wrong in the pics is the tractor is the wrong color :p just kidding nothing wrong with green. I'm just partial to red.

I have not used a lot of oak in my day, but it's up there with sugar maple if I am not mistaken. I do not think there is a single oak on this 25 acres now that I think about it.

I guess I can't complain but I only have oak white/red and one cord of hickory that I haven't burned yet. The only beech I had a chance at was to big for my saw :headbang:

Way to stay after it, Woodsnwoods ! I've got the little brother to your tractor, a 1025R. It saves a lot of time and a lot of sore muscles. Nice work!

Nice pictures. I don't get much beech but I like it when I do. That is going to make some fine wood.
