Some what related, my son was playing basketball in high school for gym. He fell and dislocated his his shoulder at school. The nurse called and the wife kinda of freaked, but the gym teacher popped it back in. He appears to be fine, but a little sore.
Update, my son said the gym teacher did not pop it back in, my son did it himself. I don't know how, but he's still kinda sore.
Well, after all, he is my son. In 2012 I fell through a barn floor getting goodies as the barn was to be razed the following day. I had permission, not a thief. Anyway, I broke my leg in 3 places and 2 toes. I made three trips out to my truck loading my goodies with ever increasing pain each trip. I drove myself home and then to the E. R. where I walked into the hospital and then almost passed out from the pain. They put me on Morphine there, two surgeries and all kinds of metal hardware, and one year later I was good as new.
Ouch Nitrodave that sounds like it must hurt like hell. Hopefully you have hydraulics to help you split this spring. Im glad you're still with us. I have a neighbor across the street from me and up a few houses who was out with a bunch of our local boys sledding and eight men died that day in an avalanche leaving behind wives, children, mothers etc. Across the street and down a few houses from me the man of the house lost his life sledding with friends last April. My point being is not to take away from your experience but that Im real glad yours is one you get to heal from. Get well soon brother.
While my son was in high school playing basketball one evening, same thing happened to him. Football injury from a couple months earlier. He just popped it back in himself and kept playing! Atts my boy!
Had another appointment with the orthopedic surgeon today.....no surgery at this time. 6 more weeks in sling then exray. Hopefully everything will be good then, race season starts in 7 weeks...
Well this makes 4 weeks in... feeling a lot better, finally pain subsided enough last week to be able to sleep through the night.... that or I was totally exhausted from only a couple hours a night... been getting cabin fever, so I had a small campfire last night, and the wife and I had some campfire hotdogs for dinner.
I can tell you you do not want to break both sides at the same time. shoulder out and popping back in - did that 2 fall seasons past- again. For a while in the mid 80's I could set off the metal detector at the airport from 10 yards out. Made flying so enjoyable. Almost normal? now days
Yes it is. Thanks Nitrodave Went to doctor yesterday to get stitches out. Only negative is the finger doesn't seem to want to totally straighten and he said it may not but it is not off by much so should not be a problem. I'm seriously considering heading out to the woods for some honest work.
