Taking care of the wee one. Doctor says don't expect it to be over in a few days. Could take 6-8 weeks before it is completely gone. o_O What the ? Nasty cough going around and not a lot you can do about it. Gave us a light dose of a steroid that will help, but the body has to really take care of it on it's own. So I'm sitting here reading the used tractor manual I found on line and bought for the Ford 2120. Learning new things about it already.

Gasifier… You'll be able to relate to this for sure.

My wife had the scare of her life this morning. (Literally, this has always been her worst nightmare) She was down with our daughter & husband, helping to take care of their 2 little guys. Heres what happened… husband has left for work… the oldest (2-1/2 yrs) was sick and threw up this morning. He's also got a fever, 101. My daughter decides to skip down to the store to get what they need to bring the temp down, etc. While she's gone, the little guy goes into a seizure and stops breathing! (Never had a seizure before) My wife calls 911 immediately, and is watching him start to turn blue, then dark blue. She was terrified, as most grammy's would be. The dispatcher did great and kept her focused while (thankfully they live near the hospital) she waited "forever" for the ambulance. The crew arrived and got the little guy stabilized and off to the hospital. Thank God he's fine, just tired. Husband and daughter were on their way back home just before I started typing. Whew… just damm. Very proud of my wife. She just knew right away that it was a 911 emergency. Hit it right on the head. Lots of times, it's a tough call. Give that little one of yours a big hug. Whatever time it takes for her to get well…

So I've been stuck inside the last couple days with a nasty sore throat and cold.. so I decided to do a little cooking. I found this really easy looking chicken dinner casserole dish that I've included the recipe for. It's great.

GARLIC & LEMON CHICKEN WITH RED POTATOES & GREEN BEANS !
(Gluten free. Low Carb, Diabetic Friendly and so simple to make)

    INGREDIENTS
    6 tablespoons olive oil
    2 lemons, 1 thinly sliced, 1 juiced
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    3/4 pound trimmed green beans
    8 small red potatoes, quartered
    4 chicken breasts

    DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400°F ( 180). Coat a large baking dish or cast-iron skillet with 1 tablespoon of the olive oil. Arrange the lemon slices in a single layer in the bottom of the dish or skillet.

In a large bowl, combine the remaining oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper; add the chicken, green beans and potatoes and toss to coat. Pour this mix into the pan and spread around evenly.

Roast for 50 minutes or until cooked through. Serve warm.

He's got a virus of some sort and I guess the fever temp helped to set it off. He's home now and my wife is still there. She just told me he was drinking Pedialyte and eating fruit popsicles to help keep his temp down. The Doc said he thought all would be fine as long as he doesn't have another seizure. I'm sure that went over well… I think all are much more ready to deal with whatever now… this morning was a real surprise. No more surprises. How's your little one doing?

She's okay. It is way worse at night. Like a lot of stuff when we are all sick. But this seems to almost go away during the middle of the day. Then when she goes to bed it gets pretty bad. So we will get her to bed an hour early, then up a few minutes earlier than normal. Get her up and about and moving around. Hopefully she can go to school in the morning. I have things I need to get done! Like cutting some more wood for next year!:axe:

It is great. I made that last year and we both really like it. I didn't use quite so much lemon as the recipe calls for.

It's funny you mention that as my wife thought it was a tad too much lemon as well.

Looking to cut some farwood today. Gotta' pretty big walnut down in an area that's usually kinda' marshy/soft. The cold has all that frozen solid and we're thinking it's time to pull it outta' there.
The root ball might be a challenge to lop off without pinching the bar, if I use a couple wedges, things should go as planned.
You good people have a good day and be safe. Peace.

Thanks greendohn. You do the same. I hope to go into the woods a little later today. It is -15 right now and I'm going to go do some work in the heated garage now that the wife and kids are off to school. Then go out in the woods when things get up to zero. Suppose to warm right up to almost 20 today! The sun is coming up and around!

We got a out an inch today, but it was unexpected. Made it hard at times to tell what part of road you were on, but not slick and no real visibility issues. Should be cleaned up when I get off from work at 1:30 (another short day).

My kids are sick too....well, most of them are. Nasty cold + fever.

Going to finish assembly of the wall oven cabinet for the kitchen remodel tonight. Then I'll turn them over to the wife for stain/poly.

    Ordered countertops yesterday. Ouch.

    Appliances deliver tomorrow.

Should start ripping stuff out in the next couple weeks...wire...insulate...and have the drywaller in last week of March.

Spent some time looking for some better pellets close to home today. None. In fact some places are out and have more coming Friday, some places are out period and will not be getting any more this season! WTF? So I ended up buying a so-so pellet, but they keep the camp in the 40's, that is all that matters. Brought some more wood out today with the tractor. Forgot my phone, so no pictures. :emb: Not much wood out today, about a 1/3 cord, but every little bit helps. Cut a little more and that is in the woods for retrieving another time. ( I had to get home for the kids off the bus, in case the wife is not home in time. Hopefully get more out this week. I need to get more out before we get more snow. :zip:

At least with all those roads being so steep (sideways), the unloading will be a snap…:D
… you had to glue all those stacks together just for the picture, huh?

    eatonpcat,

You got that ton of pellets today?! LOFL. I bought a ton today as well. I am thinking I may have to break down and buy another one tomorrow. Places are running out around here. And some are not getting anymore for the year. WTF? I did not take a picture of the ton I got though. LOFL Here is one of one of the last ones I got though.

Thanks! It needed a bath in that picture, and it needs a bath now! Glad I put that lift kit on it. The extra leaf spring in the back gives it a little more capacity. I would not want to go anymore than that ton though.:D
