If you bring a tent and bedding you should be good, the main meals will be provided and we can hit a few local restaurants for other meals. Cost hasn't completely been figured yet but there will be some cost there for food ect.

It will take some cash, but not much?

We should start another thread and leave a link here in this one? Use the other thread as a tool for head count. Just put "In" when you post. The total post # will dictate how many people. If your bringing the wife or kids? Then put "In + 2". ?

Or no? I think the more accurate we are at the head count, the cheaper we can make it. No need in buying food for 180, if only 75 are coming? And vise versa. We don't want to expect 75 and have 180!! ;)

Gonna be a good time. Some of us are coming up Fri evening, to set up and have a night of drinks, good food, and each others company.

Forgive me I have not looked at this thread in a while! Yes you should bring some food, drink and spending cash. We are doing a pig roast one of the nights but the food is mostly up to you.

Until I was 20 or so I barely left this state. Visits to adjoining states. I went to Kansas with my then girlfriend now wife to see her family, then went to NH for brother graduation and a few trios for work since one to Chicago and one to MD and FL

Yeah...I figure we'll have a fire going as we're all pyros. We could all bring a cooler with the meat of our choice, some potatoes, condiments, or whatever. Plus beer and pop...Sounds like a plan. I may need to get some new camping gear. :campfire:

I'm looking forward to it. I have a buddy with a tree service. He says he's going to go but his wife has him p-whipped, so I would doubt it. Looking forward to it. Not real familiar with any of the hatchet throwing or 2 man saws, but it'll be entertaining for sure. Hoping to learn a lot from the seasoned pros on the site.

I watch those competitions and the underhand log chop looks like a good way to amputate your foot. It's neat, but what high risk for the uncoordinated like myself.

I use to watch when younger the ESPN stihl timber sports stuff.

This was at what we called conclave. It was a competition among all the southern schools of forestry. Did log roll, ax/knife throw pole climbing and felling, log chop and technical stuff like education and forestry knowledge.Gae school brag rights.

For log chop there was metal shingaurds that had toe caps. We had pro axes and saws that we sent to have pro sharpened.
