Well I've finally push the stove into high gear with some LaCrete's , blower and heat set to high with feed gate at 3/4 open . Results 500 degree reading from center glass and 351 vents . Just hit 77 on the Lux thermostat it should be shutting down soon . Upstairs 72 .
EP was on 8 hi/lo the last few days. It's a little deceiving because it is equal to a normal pellet 3 hi/lo. They feed slow. My other stove was on level 2 hi/lo. Those setting if needed full bore would go through about 3 bags a day or more.
Feed rate 3 and feed trim 3 with Hamers in the hopper. Control set to hi/lo, Stat set to 72ºF and 1.5º swing.
I hear ya . I must be cursing through 2 1/2 bags a day with these temps . One of my goals was to find a gate setting for low , med and high which I finally found . The next step is to add some DF to the arsenal .
Pushing Max all the time in this leaky old house with the exception of the few days we had warm up, looking forward to this week much warmer possibly I can throttle this thing down and see how most everyone else is roasting Pellets ! Similar results Russel pushing 500 at the glass or just above it, finally remembered I had a Rutland on the stove pipe of my wood stove and magged it just above my glass door .
Heat setting of 5. Resulted in a stove pipe thermometer reading of 560* on the side of the stove with Platinums in the hopper..
Was on high for two days with Hamer's (Clean Energy) with the stove eating pellets like crazy....back on medium setting
The P68 runs in stove temp mode with heat set at 3.5 which puts the mag thermometer on the side of the stove between 350-400 degrees continuously. The P43 (when we use it, like these past couple days of frigid temps) runs in stove temp mode also, with heat set between lowest and 2.
Heck yeah! When you are going through 2+ bags a day, it feels so good knowing those bags cost $2-$4 each as opposed to $7-$8 each!!!
I normally have my Harman's regulated by thermostat (P43) or room temp probe (P61a). Sunday with the cold nights coming and the wind, I changed both over to strangle mode. For the P43 that means Stove Temp / auto with a feed rate of ~0.5 during day and 1 at night. For the P61a htat meant keeping it on room temp / Auto and turning the feed rate down to 1. Living room 74-75, middle of the house 71 and bedrooms (far side) at 68-69. Basement at 75*. This morning both stoves were set back to regular running mode just before I left the house. Supposed to get up in the 20's, possibly 30's, so don't need them to throw constant heat and air pressure. Oh yeah, PTL's in the baby Harman and a mix of Okie Golds and Infernos in the big boy.
I've been using 2 to 2.5 bags a day between my two stoves. Warmer temps ahead so that will go down for a little while.
