Doesn't sound too bad, that's cheaper than what I am finding now by about $5 (shipped)

Yeah, it's a nice tool, with that extra weight it will take care of anything the x25 won't.
I really like the big hammer face for smacking in wedges it works great

If I can find one for $50-55 shipped, or tax in (locally), then I think I'll pick one up.

Well, Merry Christmas to me...I just online ordered/store pickup an Fiskars IsoCore maul from the local Lowes store (they show 2 in stock, even though they told me they don't carry 'em the last time I was there!:picard:)
My BIL/SIL usually get me Lowes gift card so I had this all scouted out and ready to go...then we had our Christmas gathering last night and...they mixed it up on me...CASH! (But I think I can work with that)

Anywho...I used a "$15 off of $50 purchase" (online only) coupon to get the total price to just under $48 (tax in) ...and I have another one if somebody here wants it, I'll give ya the number as a belated FHC Christmas Karma/Happy New Year gift...lemme know, it expires this coming Thursday...

Yeah, I was almost expecting to get a notice from 'em saying they couldn't fulfill my order or something but instead I got an email saying the order is ready to pick up ...we'll see
I did notice the store was showing 2 in stock...its now zero, hey, a least their inventory was only off by one! ;)

Santa brought me an 8# Isocore for Christmas.

I don't split a lot by hand but wanted it for breaking large rounds in half to get on the splitter. Keep in mind I have only split a few rounds with it so far.

    Impressions:

It sure feels heavier than 8#s. I don't know why, it seems heavier than my other two 8# mauls.
Much sharper than regular mauls, one of which spent some time under the high speed angle grinder with very coarse sandpaper.
Excellent fit and finish as you would expect from Fiskars.
Works well on large rounds, particularly breaking through the center which the X27 is not good at.

I've e got a bunch of Fiskars stuff, here is an old pic and not all.

By the way, these are the handiest and underrated wood handling gadgets out there (barring pickaroons) and now Fiskars has a new set that looks better.

It will still be there all nice and shiny when your back is better, hopefully that is very soon.
My back was bothering me a lot yesterday.

I've had mine for almost a year now, and I really like it. I use it more than any of my others, including other Fiskars products.
    Highly recommend!
