I (we) really had a god laugh this morning with the weather channel doing a live broadcast from Atlanta with the storm they were having. A reporter was outside all bundled up with the hood on his weather channel jacket pulled up and tight, snow pants and boots. standing in about an inch of snow. Can't remember if the reporter was male or female but they were trying to over sensationalize the snow Atlanta was getting. Then they moved over to a snow drift where the snow is deeper.... Yeah right, it came up to their ankles!! And the night before, with two highways in the background, reporting of how no one is out driving because of the conditions and the weather change that is going to happen, but the traffic scenes from both highways were just car after car and full speed!
yooperdave , one of my suppliers that is based in the Atlanta area, let everyone go home early on FRIDAY afternoon due to snow that was coming the next day. That reminds me of that chart I posted earlier.
My daughter works for Delta Airlines and said some flights were delayed from Atlanta because of a little snow and it was 31 degrees, they were all freaking out down there Atlanta is a big hub and when things get screwed up there they get screwed up everywhere
The weather channel, snowmaggedon before the first flake is spotted. Today was supposed to be >1" snow. Winter advisory ended yesterday at 4:00 pm. Just got back in from plowing about 4" of invisible snow that snuck up on the weather folks. We call it stealth snow around here. 9F out 74 in. Red Oak reload & off to bed.
Current temp 8° headed down to - 9° Have a good amount of drinks in me, but safely loaded the oakleaf with wood. What kind, don't know.
8 deg this AM and we got 4" of beautiful, light, fluffy, powder snow. And yes, it is "squeaky" snow! Loaded the stove for the night before bed, lots of coals then. Up early for work at 0430 the stove still has lots of hot coals, the wife will add wood when she arises. OBTW, the house was still warm.
11° this morning makes it the coldest of the season. Tomorrow should be colder though. Got through the night on oak and maple.
Oh, chit! Just saw my own weather avatar here and it says 6°. No wonder Boomer came right back in after I let him out.
8degrees here, with fresh snow cover about 9-10 inches. Burning oak. Once the coffee has moved things along, it'll be time to head outside and start dealing with the snow. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
6º outside, heading all the way up to 14º today, might be a good day to open the pool and put the invitation out this morning at church for a baptism service. Gonna load some ash, elm and locust after I get the coals burnt down. 70º inside.
9 out 70 in Loaded with mostly oak and coal. Hate to do it today as cold as it is but with all the time robbers that have been plaguing me lately, I need to move a cord of wood into the furnace room. I usually wait till a warm day so all that cold wood doesn't knock the house temp down. My schedule this next week isn't looking good for free time. grrrrrr!
It was 10 this morning here, 69 in the stove room, 64 in the back bedroom. First load already has it up to 76 in the stove room
9° and about 3" of snow overnight, I loaded the boiler with a few sticks of oak, it's still 75° inside.
